St. Mary School collected pop tabs for an alumnus family. Here is what coach had to say:

Today we had the presentation to Mr. and Mrs. Tony (Kay) Mueller and their eldest daughter Ellie. One of the PE goals as part of our social justice endeavors, this year was to give back to a family that was a former St. Mary family. I thought this would be a good lesson to teach the kids on the importance of helping out and giving back. Twenty-two years ago this September their identical twin daughters were born prematurely, Sophia Louise and Elise Isabelle. Ellie was in the hospital a month before coming home, and Sophia was in the hospital for six months and a day before being called home to heaven. Sophia had some complications and the family sought treatment in Indianapolis, Ind. While in the hospital there, the family stayed in the Ronald McDonald House and was well looked after. As their way of giving back to the Ronald McDonald House, the family members have always collected soda/beer/can pull tabs that the RMH turns into money to help other families who stay there a little to no cost. Physical education teacher and coach Mare Von Lindern had grades K-5 collect the tabs all school year figuring maybe 5,000 would be collected. As it turns out, the kids and coach collected 32,650 pull tabs.
