Raccoon County Music Festival
Aug. 10, 12-7 p.m.
The Raccoon County Music Festival will be held at the Geauga County Historical Society’s Century Village Museum, 14653 East Park St. in Burton. It will feature performances on two stages, square dancing, spontaneous jamming and more.
Food and drink will be available for sale, but event-goers may bring their own meals as well as chairs and blankets.
Admission is $10 for those 13 and older; $5 for children ages 6-12; and free for children under 6.

DTJ Harvest Day
Aug. 11
DTJ Taborville’s 85th Annual Harvest Day Festival will be held at Taborville located at the corner of Bartholomew and Quinn roads in Auburn Township. The parade starts at 2 p.m. Czech foods will be served from 11 a.m. on.
Music will begin at 12:30 p.m. Scheduled to perform are Sokol Greater Cleveland Concert Band, Anthony Culkar and Frank Moravick Orchestra.
Czech beer will be available at the bar. T-shirts and other Czech items will be for sale.
Donation is $5 at the gate for those over 12. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. No coolers or pets, please.

Kiwanis Summer Concert Series

The Kiwanis Club of West Geauga closes out its 36th annual summer concert series at the gazebo in Chester Township Park with Amaryllis, an up-and-coming four-piece band that performs ‘90s rock, country and hard rock.

Free Community Breakfast

Ledgewood Christian Church is hosting its free community breakfast at the church located at 8261 Kinsman Road in Russell Township.
The menu includes pancakes, sausage, salmon patties, juice, coffee and tea. Ample parking is available in the rear of the church building. All are welcome.
Scrap Tire Collection
Aug. 17, 9 a.m. to noon
A scrap tire collection for Russell Township will be held at the township road garage located at 15625 Chillicothe Road.
There is a limit of eight tires per household. The tires must be dry and off the rim. Passenger and light truck tires only.
The event is limited to Russell Township residents only. No business or commercial drop-off.

12th Annual Dice Run
Aug. 17
Sign-up for Chardon Post 6519’s 12th annual Dice Run begins at 10 a.m. at the post located at 752 Water St. Bikes depart at 10:30 a.m. and last bike in is at 4 p.m. There is a new route this year; directions and maps provided at sign-in.
Donation is $20 per rider and $5 per passenger. Event includes 50/50, pull tabs and raffle baskets.
Dinner will be provided at the end of the run with a cash bar.

Chicken Dinner and Car Show
Aug. 18, 11 a.m.
Edward and Lucy Parish will host the 10th annual Chicken Dinner and Car Show, rain or shine, at 16150 Center St. in Parkman. Event features classic cars and trucks, Chinese auction, raffles, bingo, DJ Cory and family horse racing.
Tickets for the barbecue chicken dinner are $12 for adults and $6 for children 10 and under.
Donation of $10 requested for car show entries. Goodie bags and dash plaques given to first 100 cars. Three prizes will be awarded along with a $200 gas card, compliments of Best Funeral Home. Drawing at 4 p.m. Winner must be present.
Door prizes awarded every 15 minutes. Chinese auction early bird tickets go on sale Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 400 items to bid on, with the drawing at 6 p.m.; winner need not be present.

The Chardon Community Action Team will hold its 20th annual Car and Motorcycle Show on Chardon Square. The show provides a fun event for families, residents and car and motorcycle enthusiasts. Event includes food, live music, bake sale, Chinese auction and 50/50 raffle.

Civic Club Ox Roast

The eighth annual Community Ox Roast sponsored by the Bainbridge Civic Club will be held at Centerville Mills Park, 8558 Crackel Road in Bainbridge Township. Proceeds benefit student scholarships, Bainbridge Area Food for Friends food pantry and philanthropic donations to community programs.
There will be entertainment, including a fun run, live music, field games, bounce house, corn hole tournament, beer tent and other surprises.

Twilight Soiree

Auburn FD Clambake
Sept. 7, 6-8:30 p.m.
The Auburn Fire Department is hosting its annual clambake at the fire station located at 10950 Washington St. in Auburn Township.
Regular bake dinner costs $30 and includes a dozen clams, half a barbecue chicken, corn, yams, coleslaw, roll, soda and beer. Extra clams will be available for $10 per dozen, as well as hot dogs and chips for the kids for $3.50.
There will also be live entertainment and a 50/50 raffle to benefit the fire department. The Auburn Firedevils will have cookbooks available.
