The third annual vintage car, truck and tractor show sponsored by the Newbury Township Board of Trustees will be held at Oberland Park, 14639 Auburn Road, Newbury Township.
All years and makes welcome, including antique, classic, muscle, sports and tuner cars. Show awards; first 100 receive goody bags and first 75 receive dash plaques.
Registration is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. No admission or registration fee. Food and raffle sales benefit Newbury Music Boosters K-12.

Small Business Rally
Aug. 24, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The community is invited to attend the first ever independent and locally owned business rally at the Maple Leaf Plaza in Chardon.
The family friendly event will feature free T-shirts, bands, a bounce house, games, booths, free servings of FroYo Twist Frozen Yogurt and a food truck. The free celebration will culminate with a dance for all ages.

Twilight Soiree
Aug. 24, 5:30-9:30 p.m.
The Foundation for Geauga Parks will be holding its annual Twilight Soiree at Veterans Legacy Woods, 14085 Ravenna Road, Newbury Township.
The event includes beverages, dinner, live music by the Dan West and the Real Deal String Band, presentation by Harvey Webster of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, telescopes and astronomy presentation, silent auction and raffle. Proceeds benefit Foundation programs and educational initiatives.

Chicken and Duck Dinner

DTJ Taborville is having a chicken and duck dinner at 9850 North Blvd., Chagrin Falls. Cost is $ 12.50 for an adult dinner and $6.50 for a children’s chicken dinner. A half duck dinner is $17.50.
Frank Moravcik will provide music for dancing from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Czech beer is available at the bar.

Scouts on the Square

Join for fun activities for the whole family on the south lawn of Chardon Square. Learn about the Scouting units in the greater Chardon area. Visit all of the units and earn a commemorative patch. Parents can earn a chance to win a door prize.
OPERS Retirees Meet

This-n-That Sale
Sept. 5-7
The St. Mark Lutheran Church Women’s League will hold its annual rummage sale at the church located at 11900 Chillicothe in Chester Township.
Hours are Thursday, 4-7 p.m., with a $5 donation at the door; Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free Saturday and Sunday.
GEL Breakfast

The first Geauga Economic Leadership (GEL) breakfast of the season features Mary Ann Ponce, director of the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival, at Kent State University at Geauga, 14111 Claridon Troy Road, Burton
Ponce will speak about the festival’s 10th anniversary, Oct. 2-6. Learn the inspiration behind the festival, how film’s are selected, behind the scenes preparations and the economic impact.

Chinese Auction and Raffle

St. Patrick Church in Thompson Township is hosting its annual Chinese auction and 50/50 raffle in the church hall. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the drawing begins at 1:30 p.m.
An entrance fee of $2 includes six raffle tickets. A light lunch will be available.
Chardon Rubber Reunion Picnic
Sept. 7, 1-4 p.m.
The 10th annual Chardon Rubber employee picnic will be held at Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve, 11620 Ravennain Chardon.
Bring a dish to pass and beverage. Donations for the Chinese auction are appreciated.
Auburn FD Clambake
Sept. 7, 6-8:30 p.m.
The Auburn Fire Department is hosting its annual clambake at the fire station located at 10950 Washington St. in Auburn Township.
Regular bake dinner costs $30 and includes a dozen clams, half a barbecue chicken, corn, yams, coleslaw, roll, soda and beer. Extra clams will be available for $10 per dozen, as well as hot dogs and chips for the kids for $3.50.
There will also be live entertainment and a 50/50 raffle to benefit the fire department. The Auburn Firedevils will have cookbooks available.

Join Cub Scouts
Sept. 10, 7-8 p.m.
Cub Scouts Pack 3141 will hold a meet and greet for new familiesat First United Methodist Church, 14999 S State Ave, Middlefield. Meetings will continue to be held there every Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Pack 3141 is open to all youth ages of 5 to 12 and teaches leadership, group activity, self esteem, good citizenship and physical fitness. Parents are included in meetings.
50 Gun and Sport Raffle
Sept. 14, 1-9 p.m.
The first annual Geauga Veterans Sport Fest will feature guns, sports equipment and cash to be raffled off at Great Lakes Outdoor Supply, 14855 N. State Ave., Middlefield.
Tickets will be drawn every 30 minutes, from 1-6 p.m.
Purchase tickets online at GeaugaVets.com or from Geauga County-based American Legion posts, Veterans of Foreign Wars posts, the Geauga Veterans Service Center and local retail outlets.Winner need not be present.
Vendors will offer sideboards and raffles. Food trucks and refreshments will be onsite; veteran and local organizations will be present.
Entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. with The Fort Huntsburg Band, and culminate with fireworks at dark at Yoder Bros. Park located at the north end of Thompson Avenue. The fireworks are sponsored by the Village of Middlefield

The Children’s Guild of Cleveland is hosting its 75th annual Creations Boutique featuring handmade seasonal gifts and décor, gourmet and hostess gifts, jewelry, women’s and children’s clothing, accessories and artworkat Dino’s at Cleveland Metroparks Acacia Reservation, 26899 Cedar Road, Lyndhurst. There will be boutique raffle items and more, showcasing Guild artisans.
