Linda K. Green
BURTON – Linda K. Green, 76, of Burton, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2020, at Briar Hill Health Care.
She was born March 28, 1943, in Chardon, to the late Kauko and Ruth (nee Mullola) Kiviniemi. Linda graduated from Middlefield High School and Kent State University with a B.S. degree in Music Education.
Linda was a K-6 elementary music teacher for West Geauga Schools for 30 years. She was a member of the Geauga County Fair Band for 38 years, the choir director for Burton Congregational Church for 20 years and several other churches in Geauga County.
She also was a member of the Geauga Lyric Theater Guild for 10 years, the Tuesday Club and Teachers Bowling League.
Linda enjoyed fishing, especially with her father. Her other hobbies included reading, swimming and collecting Longaberger Baskets.
She was a caregiver to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Linda will be sadly missed by her husband and the love of her life, Roland Green; daughters, Aimee Ruth Green, of Burton, Shelly (Rick) Pressell, of Warren; grandchildren, Erin and Faith Pressell; sister, Laura Holmes, of Middlefield; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Kiviniemi.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at the First United Methodist Church, 14999 S. State Ave., Middlefield.
She will be laid to rest with her mother and father in Middlefield Cemetery during a private burial at a later date.
