The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office May 8-14, 2020. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 248 calls during this period.

AGENCY ASSIST

May 14

2:27 p.m., Bundysburg Road, Huntsburg. Theft in progress at Bargain Bin. Black Cadillac with temporary tags. Two males. Owner of Bargain Bin has vehicle blocked with excavator. Vehicle left northbound. Lost caller. Ashtabula advised and will be calling caller.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

May 10

7:03 p.m., GAR Highway, Hambden. Red cow is missing. It broke out of the pen. OSHP also notified.

CITIZEN ASSIST

May 8

1:23 p.m., Mumford Road, Troy. Parade for a 4-year-old boy.

2:30 p.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Female has unwanted ammunition she would like to turn in.

May 9

12:54 p.m., Munn Road, Newbury. Graduation parade lining up at Zeppe’s.

DRUGS

May 8

8:26 p.m., Aquilla Road, Claridon. Staff believes there may be drugs outside on property. Staff cannot come out, but focus by the library administration lot and side of building. Deputies and K-9 checked the property with negative results. Caller advised one of their residents received a chat the “deal was going down tonight at 8” and they believed it would most likely happen at their dumpster or the library dumpster. Caller said they received another message the deal was off because “an ambulance was nearby.” Extra patrol and checks requested and will be performed. The “dealer” name would not be provided but was provided to the supervisor for her review.

HARASSMENT

May 8

5:56 p.m., Wellesley Lane, Munson. Yesterday a deputy came out to talk to caller’s teenage son because he sent a mean text to a girl that said “Go kill yourself.” Now caller’s son is getting the same message back from girl. Caller would like an officer to now contact the other family. Deputy called the number and it went straight to voicemail. Left a message for them to stop sending messages to caller’s son and gave them the sheriff’s office number to speak with deputy further if they wished.

May 12

8:37 p.m., Bass Lake Road, Munson. Stepdaughter has been harassed by several students telling her to kill herself. She goes back and forth between mom and dad’s house. Received a Snapchat message telling her to kill herself. Advice given on how to send a no contact order.

HEALTH

May 8

9:51 p.m., Burton Windsor Road, Huntsburg. Deputies responded to report of large Amish party. Caller just delivered pizzas there. A group of approximately 20 young Amish males were gathered in a wood shop. Group was adhering to the 6-foot spacing rule and sharing pizza and pop. Individuals were asked to disperse until larger groups were permitted by state of Ohio. Group of young men cooperated and dispersed immediately. Property owner’s son agreed to abide by department of health rules until advised otherwise.

PHONE HARASSMENT

May 8

5:01 p.m., Claridon Troy Road, Troy. Caller needs to make a report for phone harassment. She contacted a plumbing company to have a gas line put in and was provided an estimate of $1,400. Caller asked company why it was so high after doing her own research on what the parts cost. Caller said he told company she was going to find someone else to do work. She said she received a text from plumber, “do you see how nice I was to that c$@#. Caller said she responded back and plumber said he texted the wrong person and got no response. Caller said she put a bad review on Yelp and called BBB. Since then, she received nasty text from plumber. Caller said she was going to block plumber but wanted incident documented due to him knowing where she lives.

SUSPICIOUS

May 9

6:57 a.m., Champlain Trail, Auburn. Car is parked in the cul-de-sac. It is occupied by two people. Caller believes they meet there to have sex. Deputy responded. Daughter from one of homes was meeting up with her boyfriend. Both advised to meet at the house instead of the cul-de-sac.

May 12

8:26 p.m., Wilson Mills Road, Chardon. Rear building, behind Tap Root Yoga. Two kids waving pistols. Only one guy had a gun. He was waving it around and his friend said to put it away. Officer out with them behind Auto Zone. Per officer, one gun recovered, Sig Sauer 9 mm. Both males in custody and en route to jail. Grandmother took custody.

May 13

11:34 p.m., Ravenna Road, Chardon. At least two people are going around, stealing flowers off porches. Last seen headed northbound on foot. They just got into an old, beat up car and pulling out of driveway. Flowers stolen off high school principal’s porch. No theft occurred. Some individuals had decorated Chardon Principal Doug Murray’s yard with balloons, streamers and a sign that reads, “Best Principal Ever.”

THEFT

May 10

6:45 p.m., Mayfield Road, Huntsburg. Anchor stolen out of the yard. Anchor described as approximately 36 inches long, black in color and extremely heavy. Sat out in the front yard on a large white rock for 30 years. Her neighbor said he saw it Thursday and caller’s daughter just now noticed it missing. Caller said she has no idea who would take it or why.

May 11

8:42 a.m., Mayfield Road, Huntsburg. Theft of lawn mower. Reel push mower silent cut stolen sometime since Saturday. For sale by the road. Mower was chained to telephone pole. Chain was cut.

THREATENING

May 10

1:18 a.m., Trask Road, Thompson. 10-year-old male called and said he and his 12-year-old female friend were playing Fortnite and two males on there began speaking sexually to his female friend. Names of the gamers were “Zae-Q Dog” and “Shorty_MEXICAN.” Zae-Q Dog made threats to shoot the caller with an assault rifle. Sounded like 15 years of age. Deputy advised and spoke with mother, who was advised of situation and was told to make sure the caller disconnected with these males on the game. She was advised a deputy would be responding.
