FGP Explorers Series

The Foundation for Geauga Parks is hosting its monthly Explorers Series at Blue Heron Preserve, 14747 Ravenna Road in Burton. Join for a one-hour walk at a new preserve in Burton Township, just opened by the Western Reserve Land Conservancy. Land Conservancy staff will join the group to share about history, habitats and plans for the property.
Hikers should wear weather appropriate clothing they do not mind getting dirty or wet. The group will practice social distancing guidelines and split into teams of 10 or fewer to walk. Bring a water bottle and binoculars.

Free Meal Kits
July 11 and 25, 11 a.m. to noon
Free meal kits will be available at the Community Church of Chesterland, 11984 Caves Road.
Each kit includes an entree for two that includes a protein, fruit, vegetables and a breakfast item. A recipe accompanies each kit, which is packaged in a bag that can be given contact free to individuals and families.
The church plans to continue providing kits every other Saturday until people are able to again gather in person. The distribution in August will continue based on an evaluation of the situation and need.

Call For Entries For Art Show
Fairmount Center for the Arts will continue its tradition of fostering local and regional artistic expression with the 44th annual Fairmount Art Exhibition to be held in early August at 8400 Fairmount Road in Russell Township.
Artists from the greater Cleveland region are invited to enter their artwork for consideration. Monetary prizes will be awarded, including $1,000 for Best in Show, $200 for first place and $100 for second Place will also be awarded in each category.
