CITIZEN ASSIST
July 12
7:11 p.m., Bass Lake Road, Munson. Umpire would like an escort to his vehicle. Unruly parents from the away team, Chardon Spartans, are yelling threats. He is sitting with the home team, Geauga Knights, in the dugout. Umpire will walk out once he sees sheriff’s deputy.
FRAUD
July 10
3:21 p.m., Dianne Drive, Newbury. Was scammed out of money overseas. Male sent $500 to a female he met online. Female resides on the Ivory Coast in West Africa. Female threatened to release damaging photographs of caller if he did not send her money. Report for info/insurance only.
July 11
4:17 p.m., Chanticleer Court, Auburn. Social media account was hacked and now the person is sharing nude photos of her. Advice given.
July 13
6:46 p.m., Chanticleer Court, Auburn. Female in lobby to report possible fraud in relation to her social media being compromised and also blackmail. She said he Snap Chat account was hacked and person involved asking all her friends for their numbers, and once they give their number they hack their accounts. She said the person shares compromising photos of her friends. Complainant told her friends would have to contact GCSO. Advice given on how to protect yourself on social media.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
July 12
9:26 a.m., Hosmer Road, Parkman. Mailbox was damaged and it “looks suspicious” because of a “pow-wow at church and I was targeted.” Caller said he wanted incident documented. He said he made a stand about something in church today and felt it odd that he came home and he found his mailbox was knocked off the post and both paper boxes were pushed back.
SUSPICIOUS
July 10
2:08 a.m., Ravenna Road, Chardon. Called her friend and said she is in Geauga County, does not know where she is, but says she is on Route 44 and saw a sign for Geauga County. Told caller she was trying to lose someone who was following her. She is from Ashtabula and is unfamiliar with the area. Caller, who is from California, does not know why she would be in Geauga or where she would be going. Caller states it was Austin earlier today when he spoke to her around 6 p.m. Caller said she likes to travel around for photography. Caller states she was sexually assaulted a couple weeks ago in Delaware County. Caller believes there is a possibility that is who is following her. Caller said incident is being investigated in Delaware County. Spoke with female on phone. She sounded upset, possibly crying. She stated she was on Route 20 east of Painesville and that was fine. She said she recognized man following her, but he was no longer following her. She said she would not stop to meet with law enforcement, but would accept a call from a deputy. Deputy spoke with female. She mentioned her shirt was taken from her and she refused to provide detail. She was vague and kept repeating, “I’m fine.” It is unknown if she is under the influence or experienced trauma.
11:47 p.m., Burton Windsor Road, Middlefield. Someone created a realistic looking Amish dummy and placed it in the middle of the road with a knife stuck in it and ketchup or something resembling blood smeared all over it. Deputy disposed of mannequin.
July 12
12:28 p.m., Aquilla Road, Claridon. House under construction. Barn was possibly broken into. Caller will meet deputy at the house. Deputy advised. Someone came into his garage during the night and ate a cheeseburger from Sheetz. Nothing damaged or taken. Sheetz is unable to review security tapes until Monday. Will follow up next week day shift.
July 13
3:24 a.m., Club Lane, Auburn. Caller says there is an SOS signal being sent from the light in front of his house. Caller called back and said that everything is OK; neighbor called him back and said it’s a light on a raccoon trap.
THEFT
July 10
10:10 a.m., Cross Creek Parkway, Newbury. Items were taken from business and pawned. Former employee admitted to stealing power tools and pawning them at Geauga Pawn.
July 14
7:19 p.m., Chardon Road, Chardon. Report of a stole New Holland tractor from Chardon Road property. While conducting search in wooded area of Henning and Chardon roads, deputy notified of possible stolen tractor. Henning Road neighbor witnessed the suspect push an expensive New Holland tractor into the woods in his back yard and throw a tarp over it. Description of tractor matches one stolen from Chardon Road. Witness claims incident occurred on June 21.
THREATENING
July 14
3:19 p.m., Old State Road, Middlefield. Male just posted on Facebook 15 minutes ago saying he is “considering going to shoot everyone at Planned Parenthood.” Caller said she graduated with the male in 2010 and is Facebook friends with him, but has not spoken with him. Subject now lives in Painesville or Fairview. Complainant will contact those police departments and advise them of the incident.
VANDALISM
July 10
9:26 a.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. One of the political signs has been vandalized at Democratic Party headquarters. Biden sign was spray painted with black spray paint “Trump.” No video from Marathon. BP will check video from the night.
