VFW Auxiliary Rummage Sale
Aug. 28 and 29, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
VFW Post 6519 Auxiliary will hold a rummage sale at the post located at 752 Water St. in Chardon. Shop for glass, pottery, dolls, lamps, holiday decorations, cooking utensils, toys, games, books and more. There will be a bake sale, too.
Ducks Unlimited Fish Fry
Aug. 28, 4:30 p.m.
The Middlefield Marsh Chapter of Ducks Unlimited second annual banquet will be held at the Pavilion Building at Heritage Market Place, 15848 Nauvoo Road, Middlefield. Ticket includes D.U. annual membership, all-you-can-eat Lake Erie perch dinner, a chance at five attendance raffle prizes and the opportunity to participate in a live auction, silent auction and numerous other games and raffles.
Tickets are $40 per person, $60 per couple, $15 for youth under 17 years and $240 for a table of eight. Tickets are available at Great Lakes Outdoor Supply Middlefield store only or by contacting David Byler, 440-272-5930, or Nelson Detweiler, 440-636-3314.

LGRC Ride for Recovery
Aug. 30
Register for Lake-Geauga Recovery Center’s fourth annual Ride for Recovery. The ride starts and ends at Bike Ohio, 8576 E. Washington St., Chagrin Falls. Registration begins at 7 a.m.
Ride is $30 per person. Children must be 12 or older to ride. Children under 18 must have signed parental consent. Riders must wear helmets. All proceeds help support LGRC programs.

Dems Host Alternative Fair
Sept. 5, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sept. 6, 1-4 p.m.
The Geauga Democratic Party will host its first alternative fair, rain or shine, on the front lawn of its headquarters located at 12420 Kinsman Road in Newbury Township.
Register to vote, apply for an absentee ballot for the Nov. 3 general election, meet candidates and talk politics. Campaign signs, flags, hats, buttons and bumper stickers will be for sale. Food will be available. Come with a mask on and plan to social distance under the big tent.
