Freshman Community Celebration
On Sept. 25, members of the NDCL Class of 2024 reunited with their orientation groups from mid-August for the freshman community celebration to mark their successful completion of the first month of high school.
Led by members of the senior class on a gorgeous autumn day, the freshmen continued to build relationships with each other and God by participating in small discussion groups, sharing their experiences in walks around the picturesque campus and celebrating Mass together in Lion Stadium. The afternoon ended with ice cream treats for everyone.
Students Clean Up Mentor Headlands
NDCL students and teachers took their mission statement to heart by transforming at least a little part of the world by cleaning up the beach at Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor on Sept. 24.
In about two hours of scouring the beach, the group of 43 juniors and 10 seniors collected hundreds of items that reveal the environmental impact of recklessly discarding trash that finds its way into Lake Erie.
The cleanup included a prayer experience that focused participants on the beauty of creation and their Christian responsibility to cherish and protect the planet so that it can be passed on to future generations.
Director of Campus Ministry Halle McKeon and Director of Student Leadership Ben Lozar facilitated the experience. NDCL has sponsored the beach cleanup every year since 2013.
