100th Day Festivities

The kindergarten and first-grade students of St. Helen School were excited to celebrate being 100 days smarter as 100-year-olds on the 100th day of school. The day was filled with activities reinforcing the number 100. Some of the favorite activities of the day included the 100 licks of a lollipop and 100 Hershey Kiss hunt.

Students practiced counting to 100 by 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s, 20s and 50s. They built different structures using 100 cups of various sizes. They raced to read as many words as they could in 100 seconds and used word families to write 100 rhyming words. Some students dressed up to be 100 years old, while others made shirts decorated with 100 items. It’s hard to believe everyone has been learning together for 100 days.
