The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office March 21-24, 2022.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

March 23

1:51 p.m., Trish Lane, Hambden. Large pigs loose in the area, believe they are from OSSO Farm. Owner of farm contacted and will be en route to capture the pigs. They were last seen heading west into the woods behind the caller’s residence.

BURGLARY

March 23

3:34 p.m., Great Lakes Parkway, Troy. Blazin’ Bills employees advising the bar area has been broken into. Safe and cash registers are open, side glass busted out. Not in progress. There are cameras in building. Owner on way in. Deputy advised. Report taken.

CHILD ABUSE

March 23

8:23 p.m., Washington Street, Auburn. Minor male states his father is beating him tonight. States his father is not home and he is home with his siblings. Stating father hit him in the leg two times with a rain boot and punched him several times in the leg. Also states he grabbed him by the shirt. Deputy responded. No child abuse taking place. Minor was being punished for not listening to his mother and father, and for fighting with his little brother.

CITIZEN ASSIST

March 22

5:49 a.m., Colony Lane, Burton. Caller says there is banging at his back porch door. Caller is wondering if he is able to shoot them. Person is no longer there. Deputy checked property. No evidence of anyone or anything being on the property. Caller advised not to shoot anybody that is just standing on his deck.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

March 22

9:43 a.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Daughter is fighting with male. No known weapons. He did push her around. Boyfriend and girlfriend arguing over finding out girlfriend cheated on him. No violence.

FRAUD

March 23

4:05 p.m., Nauvoo Rod, Middlefield. Complainant had made a deal with a username, Lawd Showmefun, on Facebook about purchasing a lawn mower for $3,999. Complainant received the check for the lawn mower and took it to his bank. Bank advised check was fraudulent. Complainant still has lawn mower.

SUSPICIOUS

March 22

1:27 p.m., View Drive, Newbury. Complainant wanted to report she believes her cell phone is hacked, residence is hacked and someone has access to her electronics and email accounts. Complainant also wanted to document she is possibly missing old electronics that she used for photographs. At this time, complainant was unable to provide any evidence of hacking. Advice given.

THEFT

March 23

10:21 a.m., Wood Hollow Drive, Munson. Caller reported she is missing two rings after her residence was cleaned by a cleaning company. Report under investigation.
