The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office April 15-21, 2022.
CITIZEN ASSIST
April 15
8:49 a.m., Goredon Drive, Aquilla. Caller reported around 2:48 a.m. a vehicle stopped down the road and two subjects exited. One male then pulls his shirt over his head and runs up to her house and kicks her Ring door bell. Unable to see his face, but he is thin, tall white male. He runs back to the vehicle and they leave. Unable to determine the make/model of the vehicle, but it appears to be dark. No damage was done and suspect is unknown at this time.
2:41 p.m., Bundysburg Road, Parkman. Caller wants some insight on how to handle an issue between her sister and an ex who sent intimate photos of the sister to their father. Complainant had questions about protection orders. Complainant’s sister is having issues with her ex-boyfriend. Both parties involved live out of county.
CITIZEN DISPUTE
April 15
1:23 p.m., Edgewater Drive, Newbury. Neighbor paid landscaping company to remove hedges from caller’s yard. Advice given. Civil court matter.
April 16
4:34 p.m., Punderson Road, Newbury. Neighbor is outside calling caller’s son an as&hole as her son is walking on the road past the neighbor’s house. No threats made by either party. Advice given. HOA president was notified of incident.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE
April 19
5:54 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Thompson. Verbal argument with boyfriend. He called caller a “fat whore” and her child came out of the bedroom and told boyfriend not to speak to his mother that way. Caller believes she may be having a panic attack and she cannot breathe. No violence. See report.
DRUGS
April 15
11:38 a.m., Old State Road, Middlefield. JFS wants to report possible drug trafficking involving a minor.
April 21
11:02 a.m., Ravenwood Drive, Claridon. Program manager confiscated marijuana and alcohol from a client. She is en route to GCSO to drop the material off for destruction. Do not want to reveal the client who was in possession of this material.
FRAUD
April 18
3:55 p.m., Kile Road, Montville. Norton software scam. Computer is frozen. Caller reports a large amount of money was deposited into her account and the hackers are asking for a gift card from Target. Caller is not out any money. Advice given.
April 19
9:18 p.m., (WITHHELD). Caller’s teenage son is being scammed. He took a photo of himself and sent it to a girl. This guy is now online saying caller’s son needs to pay him $200. Photos are on “What’s App.” Deputy arrived and spoke with caller and her son. He advised he thought he was sending a nude image of himself to a female and later learned an unknown male was trying to take $200 to keep the photo from circulation. Deputy told them to delete the app and not to send funds. He was informed of his conduct being dangerous and illegal. He learned his lesson and said he was unaware sending a nude photo could get him in trouble.
April 20
4:36 p.m., Mitchells Mill Road, Chardon. Phone scam. Complainant gave caller his credit card info along with his social security info. Complainant has since shut off his credit card. He provided information to a person pretending to be Windstream. Complainant is going to hire Lifelock to help watch his credit score. Advice given, just wanted it documented.
April 21
6:57 p.m., Thompson Road, Thompson. Caller’s 18-year-old son is getting threats from a user on Snap Chat. Asking for money from his now. Male sent explicit photos on Snap Chat. Was then asked for gift cards or photos would be leaked. Suspect is from another country. Advice given.
SUSPICIOUS
April 15
8:56 p.m., North State Avenue, Middlefield. Out with suspicious vehicle in parking lot. Male was sitting in his car playing Pokemon. Checks OK.
April 17
3:05 a.m., Penniman Drive, Hambden. Stranger walking around the house. Caller saw only headlights, possibly SUV. Homeowner grabbed his gun and went to the back door where he was met by the male. Homeowner told the male to leave three times and then male got into a smaller SUV and left. Deputies checked area but UTL.
THEFT
April 15
8:05 a.m., Claridon Park Drive, Claridon. Someone stole caller’s mailbox sometime in the night. Granddaughter from the home has been having problems with two students at Berkshire High School. Follow up with students.
April 21
8:33 a.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Heavy equipment stolen from Burton Scot yard overnight. Deputy advised. Report taken.
THREATENING
April 15
9:39 a.m., Madison Road, Huntsburg. Daughter was threatened by another student at Hershey Montessori School yesterday. He made accusations of blackmail against caller’s daughter and yesterday he threatened her at school. Male student lives down the road from caller. Report taken.
VANDALISM
April 20
10:02 a.m., Auburn Road, Munson. Need report for several signs at NDCL that were vandalized with spray paint. Report taken, extra patrol requested.
