The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Sept. 30 to Oct. 6, 2022.

AGENCY ASSIST

Sept. 30

8:55 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Caller says there are three Amish males trespassing on his property. They are tracking a deer. Caller asked them to leave and they became confrontational. No weapons seen. ODNR does not have a unit en route. Amish males told caller to go back inside and drink more beer or else there will be trouble. Says Amish males lives behind him. Wildlife officer asked deputies to get basic information and would follow up. Males left upon deputies arrival. Information will be left for ODNR.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Sept. 30

7:26 p.m., Claridon Troy Road, Troy. On Route 700 north of 422. 5-6 loose pigs. Pigs removed from road.

Oct. 1

6:14 p.m., Oak Hollow Drive, Chardon. All white bird appears to be a pet, sitting beside caller’s pool. Approximately a foot tall. Deputy attempted to retrieve the bird but was unsuccessful. Deputy spoke with neighbors but no one said it was their bird. Resident advised she would put a box out to lure the bird in and then call back to advise she caught the bird.

ASSAULT

Oct. 5

12:39 a.m., Bass Lake Road, Munson. A pharmacy employee attached a staff member. Two males, one apparently punched the offer, verbal at the moment. Pharmacy employee allegedly took a photo of a nurse and made a comment about “jacking off to her photos.” One male issued a citation for disorderly conduct.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

Sept. 30

5:04 p.m., Claridon. Caller is going through a divorce and his soon-to-be ex-wife has been staying at their Florida property. He just got word from her attorney that she is flying up here and wants access to the house so she can get her belongings. Caller is a diabetic and is concerned she will poison his insulin if she comes to the house. He wants to get a protection order. Advice given, no threats made or crimes committed at this time.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

Oct. 4

Murphy Road, Montville. Subject who was towing a car for him is tearing up his yard and refusing to tow the car now.

FRAUD

Oct. 2

4:42 p.m., Hart Road, Montville. Caller reported a Facebook scam. He advised his cousin told him to message this profile to receive free money. He did not send any money or give the account his SSN. Deputy advised caller both the account of his cousin and the other Facebook profile were fake.

Oct. 6

6:03 p.m., Newcomb Road, Parkman. Caller wants to report about suspicious text messages regarding selling a dog. Deputy advised. Complainant received multiple text message about purchasing a dog. Advised received a cashier’s check for $1,850 from a bank in Maine, but the return label is to a power plant in Cleveland. Complainant stated the puppies were only $450 for one puppy. Complainant advised the check was fake and not to contact the unknown caller anymore.

HARASSMENT

Oct. 5

1:35 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Caller said he keeps getting harassed at Thistledown Racino and Mahoning Valley casino. Caller says people are following him in the parking lot and saying he does not play the slots fast enough. Caller said a female followed him to the Gulf gas station from Thistledown Racino and was yelling he was a rapist in the gas station. Caller never went in the gas station, but was told by his employer who was inside at the time. Caller is going to the gas station to get video of the girl from the manager.

Oct. 6

10:55 a.m., Sisson Road, Hambden. Caller requested advice and documentation about her ex-boyfriend sending her current boyfriend a full frontal nudity photo. Caller stated she cannot be identified in the photo but is concerned her ex still has photos of her. Advice given to file for a protection order a second time.

INFO REPORT

Sept. 30

10:39 a.m., Georgia Road, Burton. Caller advised he has made numerous complaints with the township regarding the school zone lights that were installed in his yard not working. He advised people are flying through there during school hours and he was told the person that programs those lights has left the department. His wife wants to make a formal report. Deputy spoke with complainant and told her she needs to contact township trustees about her complaint. Also advised GCSO would continue with extra patrols.

SUSPICIOUS

Sept. 30

1:04 p.m., GAR Highway, Hambden. Two subjects going through the dumpsters taking stuff. They were advised to return all property back into dumpster. They both were advised not to return to property unless they obtained written permission from owner to remove items from dumpster.

Oct. 1

9:21 p.m., Madison Road, Huntsburg. Laser event. Around 322 blue laser seen by aircraft at 12,000 feet. Reported to be five miles north of Geauga airport. Coordinates plot to Nelson Quarry park area. Youngstown air traffic has been advised; they are calling Portage.

Oct. 4

8:22 p.m., Ravenna Road, Newbury. Being tracked by an air tag. Complainant located an Apple Air Tag in his vehicle and does not know who it belongs to. Incident is under investigation.

THEFT

Oct. 3

3:56 p.m., Wing Road, Auburn. Theft report in lobby. Complainants provided video of male breaking into vehicles. Video will be attached.

Oct. 4

12:55 p.m., Munn Road, Auburn. Need to make a report for an employee scamming customers. Former employee doubled charged a customer for at-home dog training lessons. Person has been fired and customer has been paid back. Complainant requested incident be documented in case additional incidents are discovered.

TOBACCO PROBLEM

Oct. 4

9:27 a.m., Claridon Troy Road, Burton. IR requested. Citation issued for possession of vape.
