Frank M. Valore

Frank M. Valore, age 78, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, died on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

He was born on Aug. 4, 1944, in Chardon, to Anthony and Leta Eloise “Bobbie” (nee Smith) Valore, and was raised in Chardon before moving to Lake County as a young boy.

Frank graduated from Willoughby South High School in 1963 and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving from 1965-1967.

He married Karen M. Tompkins on Sept. 30, 1967, in Mento.

Frank had worked in the maintenance department of Lubrizol, retiring in 1998. After finding retiring “boring,” he took a job at Cometic Gaskets in Concord Township, and retired again in 2018.

He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing in the Great Lakes and flats fishing in Texas.

His family always came first, as he enjoyed coaching little league, watching baseball and football games, and especially the chats with his grandsons, Ryan and Anthony.

Survivors include his son, Todd (Victoria) Valore, of Mentor; daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Roberts, of Painesville Township; grandsons, Ryan Valore and Anthony Roberts; step-sister, Valorie Hyett, of Mentor; and brother George Curtiss, of Stansbury Park, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother Pat Valore.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Oct. 20, 2022, from 4-7 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 116 South St., Chardon, immediately followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m.

Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1375 E. 9th St., Ste. 600, Cleveland, OH 44114.
