The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Oct. 7-13, 2022.

AGENCY ASSIST

Oct. 12

6:45 p.m., Hardy Road, Painesville. Painesville Township Park barricaded person. SWAT call out.

AIRCRAFT

Oct. 13

5:38 a.m., Old State Road, Middlefield. Pilot of Cessna 310, single engine, emergency landing in the field. Single occupant in the aircraft, no injuries. Engine failure, possible fuel leak. Flying from NJ, was en route to Cuyahoga. FAA to call deputy. State patrol has the scene, awaiting arrival of FAA rep.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Oct. 7

10:06 a.m., Munn Road, Auburn. Loose goats in the area.

Oct. 8

9:27 a.m., Bundysburg Road, Parkman. 3-4 loose cows in the roadway.

BURGLARY

Oct. 10

10:31 a.m., Pekin Road, Newbury. Residential burglary. Door was unlocked and unknown what was taken. Caller was advised to stay out of the residence. St. Helen’s owns the property. Only three people have keys and there is evidence of the door being pried open. Report taken.

FRAUD

Oct. 10

2:31 p.m., Frazier Drive, Munson. Needs to report a scam. Gave $820 of stocks. Caller’s parents received a letter in the mail from National Stock and Agency to cash out their stocks. The letter was sent back to cash out the stocks for an amount lower than the stocks were worth. Money was never received after the letter was sent in. Stockholders were scammed. Caller’s son also will be sending this information to the FBI.

Oct. 13

6:08 p.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Caller would like to speak to a sergeant or detective in reference to a WM passing bad checks throughout the county totaling $49,000. Caller is looking for advice due to the crime occurring at Middlefield Bank branches in Geauga County. Complainant will be calling in the morning to file a report for the Newbury branch.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

Oct. 13

10:05 a.m., Olmar Drive, Chardon. Son advised her that on the bus ride yesterday another student told him he was going to sexually assault his sister and get her pregnant. Chardon Schools is aware, but caller wants to make a report. Happened while the bus was in Chardon Township.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Oct. 11

5:08 p.ml., Rapids Road, Burton. Caller states someone drilled a hole in her husband’s gas tank. They believe their son did it; he resides in the home. Advice given regarding evictions.

SUSPICIOUS

Oct. 8

2:33 p.m., Dewey Road, Thompson. Caller was at Thompson Library and a male followed her around the library masturbating. Caller is home now. She left the library due to incident. Caller would like the units to check the library first. Male was NOT masturbating.

Oct. 10

9:56 p.m., Thompson Road, Thompson. Caller is reporting there will be several males trying to beat up another male in the area of Dollar General in Thompson. Male states his cousin’s ex-boyfriend is going to get beat up. Male states she told her ex-boyfriend to go to Dollar General. Male states he believes this male is already getting assaulted at Dollar General or nearby. Ex-boyfriend is homeless. Caller is following on Snapchat. Caller states he heard 10-15 minutes ago the male already was punched a few times. He can no longer see anything on Snapchat, it logged him out. Checked several areas. UTL/GOA.

THEFT

Oct. 7

8:27 p.m., Water Street, Chardon. Theft of AR15 from complainant’s bedroom at some point this morning. Male suspect. Miranda given. Admission and written statement provided. AR15 seized.

Oct. 12

1:24 p.m., Bass Lake Road, Munson. Someone cut a catalytic converter off one of the Heather Hill buses. Deputy to meet caller at main entrance. Report taken.

THREATENING

Oct. 11

3:14 p.m., Grove Road, Troy. Caller would like a report for a former employee has been calling the business phone 15 times and continues to text her phone, ‘I’m going to ruin you and your business, you better watch out.’ Deputy advised. He is also texting them and attacking them on social media. Spoke with former employee and asked him to stop calling female and other employees of the club. He stated he would and would have his attorney handle anything from here.

TRAFFIC OFFENSE

Oct. 10

6:29 p.m., West High Street. Male driver in Nissan Pathfinder in Circle K parking lot with road cones stuck under car, hood is open. Male appears elderly. Male observed in his vehicle and stated he was homeless. Negative intoxication. Male advised he could not park at Circle K. Male agreed and left without issue.
