Live Streaming Holiday Concerts
The Kenston community can enjoy the upcoming holiday concerts from the comfort of home or share the link with family and friends across the country. The school district will be live streaming four concerts during December with the finale being the Kenston High School Holiday Concert on Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. Visit kenstonlocal.org for information.
WRC Scholar Athletes
Congratulations to the students who earned Western Reserve Conference Scholar Athlete honors for 2022 fall sports. To be recognized for the award, athletes must have earned a varsity letter and maintained a 3.25 grade point average during the most recent grading period.
Cheerleaders Anna Hammerle, Alexa Hebert, Avery Jakacki, Keely Mesec and Sofia Salvini were recognized for their scholarship.
Cross country student athletes were Maddison Bushnell, Charles Cianciolo, Guy DiFini, Audrey Earl, Ronan Feldman, Dominic Fontana, Emerson Greene, Jacob Kovalski, Mitchell Lai, Christian Lioudis, Paige Masson, Brianna McIvor, Kyle McMahan, Sydney Osterman, Cecelia Paglia, Robert Phillips, Madeline Ramsey, Sarah Roman, Hadleigh Schmittel, Alayna Stachiw, Sean Tobin, Mackenzie Villers, Martin Weber, Charlotte Witmer-Rich and Aurora Young.
Receiving honors in football were Ethan Ballantyne, Cohen Clark, Benjamin DiMarco, Sean Doyle, Nikko Georgiou, Evan Glontz, Joshua Hallen, Jack Jacobs, Sam Jacobs, Charles Kress, Dylan Krupp, Luke Leygraaf, Parker Munday, Thomas O’Brien, Maxwell Robarge, Toran Savransky, Tyler Schurr, Zya’r Scott, Charlie Thompson, Logan Toft, Tristan Tubbs and Colin Weiland.
Boys golfers Elliot Bargiel, Hunter Brownfield, Nolan Gelin, Benjamin Hamilton, Samuel Koltas and Austin Stephens received Scholar Athlete honors from the Western Reserve Conference.
Girls golfers Caroline Beeman, Samantha Bergansky, Hanna Busby, Anne Costello, Emme Gilbert, Brooke Sell and Annika Tutzer earned a Scholar Athlete award.
Boys soccer players Andrew DiBernardo, Grady Flynn, Carter Flynn, Ethan Gaskin, Karlo Giulvezan, Jonas Grunden, Benjamin Gurd, Trent Krueger, Nicholas Lai, Parker Munday, Ewan Paterson, Jack Purcell and Nate Schaedler were recognized with Scholar Athlete awards.
Girls soccer players Sophia Cartellone, Alexis Damiano, Bria Devlin, Cayla DiBernardo, Emma Gaskin, Grace Gettig, Kaitlyn Kowalczyk, Emily Kratzert, Mariela Macias, Olivia Muzzio, Maggie Myles, Caroline Neimes, Jayme O’Neill, Emily Phillips, Ramsey Smith and Paige Spicuzza received All Academic honors.
Tennis players Hallie Brown, Madison Davila, Mara DuBay, Payton Fetzner, Sophia Lowe, Brooke McNeal, Abby Ohlsen, Skylar Pagon, Emma Parker and Katelyn Torres earned Scholar Athlete honors.
Volleyball players Avari Amstutz, Emma Bobnar, Emma Brownfield, Emma Hart, Kate Hershberger, Maria Insana, Janie Kerchenski, Lindy Kerchenski, Anne Marie Lemons, Nicole Masseria, Anna McCabe, Sadie Poudevigne and Riley Rosneck were recognized with a Scholar Athlete award.
Rotary Senior
Madeline Ramsey is the December Rotary Student of the Month. She maintains a 4.392 grade point average and excels in academics, cross country and volunteers in the community. She has earned AP Scholar with Honors and will receive the President’s Award for Educational Excellence for the fourth year for having over 250 community service hours and outstanding grades. She has earned academic awards in algebra, geometry and modern conflicts. Madeline is a four-year letter winner on the girls’ cross country team that recently placed second at the state meeting in Division II.
Madeline is active in a variety of extracurricular activities, holding leadership positions as president of the Giving Garden Club and secretary of the Envirothon Club. She has enjoyed being a member of the Sign Language Club and French Club to enrich her world. As a member of National Honor Society, she implemented a herbal sensory garden as her community project.
She shares her love of gardening and the outdoors with classmates and students as she is working to install a butterfly garden as an extension of the Giving Garden. Recently, on America Recycles Day, she worked with classmates to provide activities for elementary students.
Outside of school, Madeline works as an associate at Morning Song Garden, a natural skin care product business. This winter, she will be working at Alpine Valley as a ski instructor. She is an active member of Holy Angels and enjoys singing in the choir, volunteering as a cantor, playing on the softball team and as part of the Girl’s Fiat Group.
Madeline has been a Girl Scout since kindergarten and achieved her Gold Award by building a composting bin and implementing a composting program for the high school kitchen that is staffed by volunteers. She has also had the chance to travel to Switzerland and Italy with the Northeast Ohio Girl Scout Travel Troop.
Madeline plans to attend Franciscan University of Steubenville. She aspires to study philosophy, theology and catechetics.
KIS Students of the Month
Kenston Intermediate School’s Students of the Month for November were honored for their “gratitude.” Students selected were fourth-graders Emma Butler, Mavia Corea, Will Dillon, Hannah Johnson, Keegan Jones, Arden Keller, Gracyn Neal, Noah Sockett, Andrew Stover and Layna Wennerstrom; and fifth-graders Sophia Coburn, Annie Deken, Josh Flinders, Lauren Keary, Jameson McArdle, Ellia Rautenberg, Lily Scaccia, Theodore Schneider, Jack Tobia and Libby Worsdall.
KMS Student of the Month
Kenston Middle School recognized its Students of the Month for November. They were sixth-graders Tyler Cingcade, Anya DeWitt, Mino DiFiore and Madison Myers; seventh-graders, Lyla Bienias, Vance Ice, Pearl Johnson and Ben Rostocil; and eighth-graders Phillip Brodsky, Hannah Fladger, Olivia Sparks and Bryce Stotter.
Gold Cards Available
All residents of Bainbridge and Auburn who are 60 years of age or older may obtain a free, lifetime “gold card,” which will admit them free of charge to any school-sponsored event in which students participate, including home athletic events, musical and dramatic performances. Gold cards are not valid when an event is sponsored by an organization other than the schools (PTO, Booster groups, etc.) as a fundraiser. Cards cannot be used for athletic events such as conference, regional or state playoffs.
Gold card membership can be obtained at the Kenston Board Office, 17419 Snyder Road.
Student Sports Passes
Kenston Athletic Boosters are pleased to announce the 2022-23 Student Sports Pass. The program allows all students free admission to home games for all sports other than football.

Adult Season Athletic Passes
Kenston High School Athletic Department is selling season passes for sport-specific home contests for the winter athletic season. The digital passes range in price from $59 to $80, depending on the sport. Visit kenstonlocal.org and search Tickets for more information.
Safe School Hotline
The Ohio Department of Education has partnered up with Ohio Homeland Security to offer all Ohio school districts a safe and secure tip line. The tip line can be anonymous, or callers have the option to leave contact information. Any threatening information or suspicious activity will be assessed by the Homeland Security team to determine the level of the threat. If it’s determined to be a high-level threat, they will communicate directly with local law enforcement and the school district.
Information that is school-related such as bullying, social media issues or other school-related information will be routed directly to the school administrators to address. Safer Schools Ohio tip/text line: 844-SAFEROH or 844-723-3764.

As a school district, Kenston often communicates via email and uses a variety of addresses to provide communications. To ensure that one receives district communications, make sure one’s email address in Infinite Campus is correct and up-to-date.
