The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Dec. 16-22, 2022.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Dec. 17

1:12 p.m., Crackel Road, Auburn. 10-12 beef cattle in the roadway. Neighbor advised the cows have been loose for a week. Attempted to make contact with cow’s owner but was unable to locate her. A citation will be issued when contact is made. Also contacted humane officer and he advised their office cannot remove animals from owner at this time.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

Dec. 20

10:40 a.m., Main Market Road, Troy. Complainant stated he’s had a truck at auto body shop for five years that still hasn’t been fixed and he wants it back. Advised complaint is a civil issue. Deputy contacted auto body and was told complainant has an outstanding balance on vehicle. Auto body said it would forgive the outstanding bill and allow complainant to have a flatbed come pick up the vehicle.

DISORDERLY

Dec. 20

4:48 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. U.S. Mail truck. Female out of vehicle at Gulf fighting with two other males. Female kicked other individual and lost balance and fell, and not getting up. Female hit three vehicles with her mail truck. Two vehicles left. Ford F350 still on scene. Caller reports no weapons seen. West Farmington FD can proceed in; reported no transport.

DRUGS

Dec. 19

6:04 a.m., Ravenna Road, Claridon. UH Police collected drugs from a patient who was brought into ER. Would like to turn them over to GCSO. Lieutenant provided a bag of items with suspected marijuana. Enter into evidence to be destroyed.

FRAUD

Dec. 16

11:44 a.m., Messenger Road, Auburn. Caller would like to make a report. Was at Harbor Freight and met a guy who said he could do waterproofing in caller’s basement. Man came to caller’s house and gave him an estimate. Caller paid him $1,450 to buy product and he never showed up. Man not answering his phone numbers. Keeps texting caller giving excuses as to why he isn’t there. Harbor Freight has video footage of male and his information is in their system, but will only release it to law enforcement. Caller advised to file a claim in civil court. Report card given to complainant. Suspect’s name attached.

Dec. 18

1:46 p.m., Regents Park Drive, Munson. Purchased cabinets from CWD in the amount of almost $13,000. He did see on the news yesterday that it is a scam and that anyone who had purchased from the company needed to be advised. Caller’s attorney advised him he needed to make a report so things can be pursued.

Dec. 21

2:53 p.m., Clark Road, Chardon. Complainant’s father opened two credit card accounts using complainant’s information. Father has since passed away and now complainant is on the hook for the balances. Complainant sought advice and advice given.

9:22 p.m., Covington Lane, Auburn. Someone hacked caller’s email and has been sending out requests for gift cards to their friends. One of their friend’s bought two $100 gift cards per the email request. Caller claims his email has been hacked and would like to file a report.

HARASSMENT

Dec. 22

8:10 a.m., Main Market Road, Troy. Female will not quit coming into caller’s work and has threatened to kill caller. She has not been to caller’s place of work six times. Caller requested female be told to not come to the gas station when complainant is working. Deputy will attempt to make contact with female.

INFO REPORT

Dec. 20

11:53 p.m., Old State Road, Hambden. One white, one gray Challenger. White one is northbound on 608. Gray one was westbound, toward Chardon City on GAR. Deputy conducted a traffic stop with the white Challenger and everything checked OK.

SUSPICIOUS

Dec. 19

1:34 p.m., Old State Road, Middlefield. Caller called on behalf of her 18-year-old granddaughter stating her boyfriend caused granddaughter injuries. Deputy spoke with granddaughter who stated she and her boyfriend were drinking in downtown Willoughby and he got into a fight and was kicked out of the bar. After she got to his house she was cut with a knife during an argument between the couple. Female stated both were intoxicated and she doesn’t really remember what happened. Abrasions were observed. Female declined to press charges or cooperate in any investigation that would lead to boyfriend’s arrest. Advice given regarding trespassing on property and female also given advice on protection orders.

Dec. 20

9:25 a.m., Mayfield Road, Chester. Church has video of suspicious activity at the same time as vehicles being stolen from Junction. Video obtained from church.

Dec. 21

9:27 a.m., Princeton Road, Huntsburg. Female stating someone left two used condoms on her mailbox. She is scared to open the box now. Deputy advised. Don’t appear to be used. Possible prank. Mailbox was not damaged and there was nothing inside.

THEFT AUTO

Dec. 19

2:13 a.m., Mayfield Road, Munson. Caller sees someone running around in the Junction Auto lot and also sees cars started in lot with lights on. Caller saw one person in the lot, thinks their car is parked by the road. Caller reported back and advised four cars passed him toward Chesterland on 322. Caller’s location was 322 by Alpine ski resort. Cars speeding at about 150 mph. Caller thinks these cars may have been stolen from Junction. Geneva requested to check the address of the registered owner of the Jeep. Geneva canceled. Per officer dashcam video, four Challengers, three black and one white. Officer advised they passed him 322 westbound. Per deputy, two Challengers and black Jeep Cherokee SRT stolen, advise Lake County to check Ganley on Route 20 in Painesville. BOLO sent all points northeast, special attention Cleveland.

THEFT

Dec. 17

7:55 a.m., Georgia Road, Burton. Christmas decorations stolen out of caller’s yard last night. Two outdoor holiday spotlights were taken around 2 a.m. Report taken.

THREATENING        

Dec. 16

4:01 a.m., Washington Street, Auburn. Husband is an inmate currently and messaged a friend to go over to caller’s house. Caller is fearful for her life and would like to speak to a deputy. Caller told deputy her husband told his friend to break into apartment and steal the truck. Husband is still in jail and is facing extradition through Indiana. Deputy advised extra patrols would be conducted and told caller to change locks and call if she sees anything suspicious.

Dec. 20

9:11 p.m., Hermitage Road, Chardon. Caller received a text message from an unknown number, threatening to come to her house and kill her son and make her watch. Caller did not respond. “You can thank your heroin meth addict son for everything that is going to happen.” Son believes these texts may be coming from a male. Son owes male money for a U-Haul order and the two were texting back and forth about the matter. Male denied sending the message. Deputies were unable to identify owner of number. Deputies assisted son and male with ways to settle the civil matter.
