At the district level, sessions that met the requirements of the Ohio Department of Education include: Crisis Prevention Institute training to meet requirements of Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) law; Structured Literacy (Dyslexia) training as part of the 18 required hours for teachers in our primary grades; Suicide Prevention training for teachers provided by Ravenwood personnel; and Trauma-informed practices as part of our PBIS expectation.

Other district sessions with expert facilitators on timely topics included: Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to support our efforts in supporting all learners – Lake Erie College; Teacher Clarity/Standards review to support our Schlechty Center focus -ESC of NEO; and Review of new math materials (grades 4/5) to expand opportunities for our students – co-author of the Reveal Math program.

Additionally, the principals supplemented with agendas aligned with building-specific curriculum work.
