The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office April 14-20, 2023.

911 PROBLEM

April 15

10:27 p.m., Wilson Mills Road, Munson. Checked on complainant who explained male was going back to his old ways and is late on the mortgage payments. Complainant said he threw feces at her but didn’t do it to hurt her. Male upset because he thinks complainant was in a porn video. Complainant kept telling him it was not her in the video. Complainant went to a friend’s house to stay the night.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

April 14

9:59 p.m., Blue Heron Trail, Munson. Parents found a vape and dad was trying to restrain son by pushing him in the bedroom. Father left to take son’s friend home because they believe the boys were smoking something other than vape. Deputies met with parents, who explained their 17-year-old son was doing great the law few months but tonight they caught him vaping and smoking marijuana. Deputies spoke to son and explained the consequences of his actions. Due to pattern of son’s behavior, parents requested son not be charged. Son said he would do better and be more respectful to his parents.

FRAUD

April 17

12:27 p.m., Turner Drive, Aquilla. Complainant calling for Nelson Tree. Fraudulent check for $5,500 from a subject at Kile Road address. Subject never lived there. Report taken.

FOUND PROPERTY

April 20

10:45 a.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Employee located $100 cash in store. She watched camera footage and saw who it belongs to but is having a hard time reading the plate of the truck/trailer. Caller is going to post a notice to attempt to locate the owner of the money.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

April 14

9:49 a.m., Bass Lake Road, Munson. Caller states while driving down the road a boy about 5 years old walking in the yard completely naked. Caller pulled into the driveway and the mother came outside and yelled from the house and the kid ran to the back of the house. Deputy responded to location. Child checked OK. Mother advised they were in the back yard and her son is in potty training mode so he was not wearing pants. Everything checked OK.

SUSPICIOUS

April 18

4:11 p.m., East Hill Drive, Chester. Males states he shot his wife and she’s dead. Two kids are stabbed and they are still alive. Caller states if we send officers he will kills the kids. Caller’s wife is in the kitchen; kids are upstairs tied up under the desk. Male is in the upstairs bedroom with the kids. Caller states he will shoot any officer who comes inside the house. Caller also states there are pipe bombs throughout the house and gas is poured over the house. If any officers enters the house they will trip a bomb. Caller disconnected. Dispatch contacted female and she’s on her way outside. Female states everyone is fine and they are sitting around table having coffee. False call. Report to follow.

April 20

11:52 a.m., Washington Street, Auburn. Caller runs a Facebook group called “End the Traffickers” about human trafficking awareness. Male sent caller a private message saying he “likes human trafficking” and he wishes he was “being dismembered.” Deputy advised. Caller found a Facebook profile for the person who sent a message. No threats made in the messages. Advice given to caller. Facebook profile of the subject sending the messages was reviewed and no threatening content was observed in any recent post.

THREATENING

April 19

2:46 p.m., Kinsman Road, Middlefield. Male had a gun and threatened two girls, ran into apartment at Applewood Apartments. Skinny male in a flannel and black beanie, probably in his 20s. They think he drives a black car and it’s still there. One male arrested for aggravated menacing.
