The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office July 14-20, 2023.

AGENCY ASSIST

July 20

10:12 p.m., Cumberland Trail, Auburn. Make contact with male and wake him up and respond to Chagrin Falls restaurant to pick up his intoxicated wife before she is arrested. CFPD tried calling the male but he did not answer. Male was notified of the request but he was intoxicated and agreed he could not drive. A suggestion was made for him to contact another person to pick her up. He instead called his wife. CFPD notified of results.

ASSAULT

July 18

10:58 p.m., Sperry Lane, Middlefield. Male states three people stopped and jumped him. Male injured ribs. Male doesn’t want an ambulance. Incident occurred at Mineral Lake Park. Silver Jeep.

CITIZEN ASSIST

July 16

4:03 p.m., Ravenwood Drive, Claridon. Caller has some questions he would like to ask a deputy. He has a friend who has been doing errands for him like buying cigarettes and using his debit card and pin. Caller discovered the male actually has been using his debit card from himself as well. Caller did not want to give friend’s name, but said the friend admitted to doing it. He said male will pay him back. Amount is approximately $8,000. Caller wants to know the best way to go about the matter in case male does not pay him back.

July 17

5:28 p.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Male in lobby to turn over a firearm for disposal. Decided he would keep it after learning its possible value.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

July 18

1:44 p.m., Plank Road, Montville. Argument between father and son on a construction site. Father tried to hit the son with the truck so he threw a rock at the window. They are now just bickering about incidents that happened all their lives. No physical contact today, just the threat of hitting the son with the truck and the rock that did not break the window. Verbal argument over pay. Both parties are owners of the business, but son was upset over short hours and having a business partner. Owner of truck did not want to pursue charges. No violence. Advice give n to both parties. Cleared. IR only.

4:11 p.m., Madison Road, Parkman. Neighbor is blocking off waterway to caller’s property. Neighbor is mad for some reason. Caller does not know if he can legally block a natural waterway. Neighbor filled a small creek on his property. Advice given.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

July 20

8:51 a.m., View Drive, Newbury. Caller states her ex-husband threatened to come kill her and her boyfriend via phone call and text, about 35-40 minutes ago. Unknown where he is now but lives in Ashland. He did not specify a means. He’s talked about owning firearms in the past. See report.

HARASSMENT

July 18

5:35 p.m., Turner Drive, Aquilla. Caller says another person is posting photos of him as a sex offender on social media accounts. There is a protection order, however, person has not been served. Deputy advised caller to make a report.

ROAD RAGE

July 18

8:52 p.m., Old State Road, Middlefield. Caller has two boys that were driving down Old State and they yelled out the window calling a male derogatory names. Male jumped in a black Challenger with red stripes and was aiming a gun at them with a laser pointed at them. Boys believes it was a black fun. They reached speeds of 90 mph. Boys are 18 and 20 years old. Caller wanted it documented that a black Charger chased his sons and pointed a black object at them with a laser pointer after they called the male names. Advice given.
