Sept. 22-28, 2023

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Sept. 22-28, 2023.

HARRASSMENT

Sept. 27

12:13 p.m., Overlook Drive, Newbury. Caller needs to make a report for harassment from two of his neighbors. Call clear. Seven marijuana plants observed growing in the back yard of complainant’s house plain view. Owner advised they are hemp plants/no license. Neighbor given a trespass warning. Male advised he came over looked in the window because the complainant’s dog killed a cat in the past and the dogs were barking for five hours straight. Both were advised to call the sheriff’s office for intervention in the future and cease contact.

INJURED PERSON

Sept. 26

7:44 p.m., Burton Windsor Road, Middlefield. 17 year old female run over by a pony and cart. She is just screaming. While hooking a wagon to a pony, the pony became spooked and pulled the wagon over a 17-year-old female who was trying to stop the pony. The female was transported to UH Geauga for possible injuries. The incident took place by the barn.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

Sept. 26

12:18 a.m., Opalocka Drive, Chester. Tracking found in juvenile vehicle. Were in Cleveland and not sure when it was put in. Received an air tag tracking notification on his phone while he was at Walmart and heard the chirping coming from the trunk and located the tag in a bag in a cavity. Stated that he locked his door and does not know where it came from. Stated that he has no issues  with anyone and his parents stated they did not put it in the vehicle.

SOLICIT WITHOUT PERMIT

Sept. 25

12:14 p.m., Wilbert Road, Munson. Caller had a solicitor at her house about 20 minutes ago offering to spray for mosquitos. He told her he was at her house a week ago and took pictures. One male, unknown race, on a motorized scooter. Unknown direction of travel. Pest control company working in the neighborhood. Advised of complaint. Checked OK.

SUSPICIOUS

Sept. 25

6:21 p.m., Hayes Road, Middlefield. Caller is reporting that a black Suburban pulled into his driveway yesterday and proceeded to walk into the house. At the time the two older girls were home and saw them. Spoke with homeowner, who said unknown individual who entered home took nothing. This happened on 9/24 about one month ago up the road an unknown individual driving a dark green vehicle entered a home and took money. Advised to keep doors locked at all times.

Sept. 26

3:30 p.m., Rockhaven Road, Lobby, Munson. Female in the lobby made a report yesterday for an air tag found in their vehicle. She found out her separated husband placed it there. No further action needed.

Sept. 27

4:31 p.m., Cedar Road, Munson. Caller sees someone crouching in the bushes next to the house. Caller cannot provide any description other than a blue coat. There is no car parked. Located a track coach at the rookery park. It was learned the suspect was a runner with the team.

Sept. 27

11:33 p.m., Rock Creel Road, Hambden Country Inn, Hambden. Customer outside on a motorcycle, he wanted a beer and told they were closed. He is upset and sitting in the lot. They are closed and want to leave but are afraid. Two female employees waiting inside. He is leaving now, westbound toward Chardon. Employees would still like deputy to escort them to their cars.

Sept. 28

3:17 a.m., Nelson Ledge Road, Parkman. Check his location in Google and it is showing he is in India. Had his YouTube account hacked. Male is now in fear for his life. Made advised they have also turned off his internet. Stated unknown people from India are stalking him through YouTube. Mentioned his aunt has a video of an Indian man in a Jeep on the property. Deputy spoke with aunt who advised that there was no video and she had just learned he may be suffering from mental issues.
