Mary Helen Yaecker
Mary Helen Yaecker (nee Kalsch) passed away Oct. 4, 2023, at the age of 96.
Beloved wife of the late Donald H. Yaecker. Loving mother of Douglas (deceased) (Pamela), Scott (Maria) and Christopher (Rosemary). Grandmother of Preston (deceased), Scott (Winnie), Sharon (Gerald), Kate, Ally and Zachary. Great-grandmother of Beth, Bryan, Maeve, Julian, Anton and Emma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Albert Kalsch; sisters, Joanne Ohl (Tom), Betty Steyer (Phil), Nancy Munn (Jerry) and Sue Whitten (Tom); and brother-in-law, Albert Yaecker (Meryl).
Loving aunt to many and friend to countless others; and leaves behind her loyal dog, “Abby Girl.”
Mary Helen was a longtime member of the Newbury United Community Church. Newbury Township was her home for over 70 years, where she and Donald settled after meeting at Nickel Plate Railroad (now Norfolk & Southern Railroad), choosing to raise their sons there.
Her life was well-lived and her grace and presence will undoubtedly be missed by all who knew her.
Mary’s countless visitors near the end brought her much joy and comfort.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Western Reserve for their wonderful care and want to thank her special caregiver, Tammi Ross.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Newbury United Community Church would have made Mary very happy.
A graveside service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery, in Twinsburg, on Oct. 21, 2023, at 11:30 a.m., and lunch to follow.
