Playhouse Square Field Trip
St. Helen students in grades kindergarten through third enjoyed a trip to the Connor Palace Theater at Playhouse Square in Cleveland to see the performance, “Giraffes Can’t Dance.” The students were thrilled to admire the beautiful architecture at the playhouse and were entertained by the talented cast.
The play is based on the children’s book, “Giraffes Can’t Dance,” written by Giles Andreae. It depicts a story about a giraffe who overcomes his struggle to dance. The story helped the students see that everyone is different and that embracing differences can help build confidence and self-esteem.
All Saints’ Day
The saints go marching in. The feast of All Saints’ Day is celebrated on Nov. 1 and Mrs. Bartholomew’s second-graders at St. Helen dressed as their favorite saint to process into the school mass. A variety of saints were presented, from St. Nicholas to the school’s patron, St. Helen. All holy men and women, pray for us.
