Sept. 29 to Oct. 5

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Sept. 29 to Oct. 5, 2023.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

Sept. 30

12:03 p.m., Goredon Drive, Aquilla. Asking for police ASAP for an unwanted male. Caller is not listening to dispatch to go back in the house and continues to scream at the male. She is difficult to understand. Located female. Stated that her boyfriend came over for his clothes but kicked him out for ignoring her for a week. She contacted the police in case the boyfriend wouldn’t leave, but did without

incident.

Sept. 30

6:34 p.m., Madison Road, Thompson. Neighbors are always yelling stuff over to him in regards to their dog. Caller was just out trying to work on his truck and feels they are a constant issue for him. Caller advised this started over the fact that he used to hire the female neighbor to clean the house. After she discovered that he had mouse traps set she felt it was not humane . That started an ongoing issue and now the neighbors always call the sheriff’s office to complain about his dogs and anything they do. He requested no further assistance. Advice given.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Sept. 30

1:47 p.m., Madison Road, Parkman. Punched male in the kidney and choked him, almost couldn’t breathe. Mother and father are still in the home no fighting at this time. Moving company is at the house. They hired a male that is supposed to help, when the driver called the male to see where he is at the male texted him and said he is 13 minutes out and is going to come and shoot him. He doesn’t wait for him. Helper sent driver stating he is black as midnight. No name. The helper is texting crazy stuff to the driver about being in a gang and will be watching for him and male texted him :”NI …. this is Cleveland we don’t care about the police. States he’s nine minutes away. Report to follow. One male taken into custody for a warrant. He was transported to the GCSO Safety Center.

POSSIBLE DUI

Sept. 30

4:46 p.m., Auburn and Thwing Road, Munson. Westbound on Thwing from Auburn. White small pick up truck, Smokey the Bear on the back plate. Blew a stop sign, all over the road.

SUSPICIOUS

Oct. 1

1:37 a.m., Stafford and Valley Road, Auburn. Male yelling outside near the intersection. Some other male yelling to another guy to knock it off and quit yelling. Going on for about 30 minutes now. Getting very loud. Deputy checked surrounding area. No yelling or people talking heard.

Oct. 1

1:50 p.m., Messenger Road, Newbury. Caller states she has a protective order against her husband. He’s currently staying in the motor home behind their rental house next door. Caller states she suspects he brought the trash can up from the curb, violating the order. She did not see him do this, nor does she have video footage of it, so she cannot be certain that he is the one that brought it to the house. Complainant continued to advise that she did not want deputies to speak to her husband or the renters, only wanted the incident documented. Advice given.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Oct. 1

3:25 a.m., Thwing Road, Chardon. Possum in her dining room. The homeowner had it trapped under a trash can on arrival and slowly moved it to the rear door and out of the house.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Oct. 2

10:15 a.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Caller is concerned because the construction crews are using her driveway and tearing up her asphalt. She is asking what she can do to people from using her driveway and said “unfortunately I can’t shoot them.” Complainant will post “no parking” signs and will follow up if any damage is noted. No obvious damage noted by responding officer.

ROAD RAGE

Oct. 2

1:20 p.m., Kinsman Road, Burton. White car almost ran buggy off the road. Caller thought male waving a gun. White 4 door sedan. Heading wesbound on 87. Ocurred 15-20 minutes ago. Sat stationary for quite a while and never saw the vehicle in question pass. No other calls about it either.
