Oct. 20 to Oct. 26

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Oct. 20 to Oct. 26, 2023.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Oct. 21

7:44 p.m., Claridon Troy and Fisher Road, Burton. Goat walking on the side of the roadway, also entering the roadway at times. Grey in color with large horns. Time lapse three minutes. Headed toward the church. The area was checked and the goat was not located.

Oct. 23

8:47 p.m., Ravenna Road, Munson. Two loose pigs on the side of the road near the Sheriffs Office. Across from the Professional Center. Caller is in a White Honda Pilot in the Professional Building. Deputies located the owner of the pigs and she came to the scene to pick them up.

ASSAULT

Oct. 22

8:17 p.m., Mayfield Road, Joys Place, Munson. Two people were fighting. One has back and head pain. One was grabbed by the throat. Parties separated. Joys Place wants one checked for injuries. Deputy spoke with one who advised that he was joking around with the other and he pushed him into the wall and grabbed his neck. Spoke with other who advised was calling him a girl and making fun of his shorts so he tugged lightly on his pajamas. Both started pushing each other. No charges filed.

HARASSMENT

Oct. 21

12:38 p.m., Plank Road, Montville. Caller states DJS Trucking just passed the house southbound honking the horn and this is an ongoing issue.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

Oct. 22

3:13 p.m., Claridon Road and Fox Pointe Drive, Chardon. Juveniles are crawling on the bottom of the bridge. 4+ kids. They are swearing at cars and climbing the bridge. They have been hanging out there a lot recently but today is the worst they have acted. Kids advised to stay out from under bridge. Stated they weren’t yelling at anyone. Left area after talking with deputy.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Oct. 24

1:13 p.m., Kile Road, Claridon. Report for property damage. Caller found several arrows that were shot at his barn. Crossbow bolt was found in pasture after being shot through barn door. Additional

bolt also found on the property. Area was checked for any potential tree stands or deer blinds on the property across the street. Nothing located. Property owner believes the arrow possibly came from a poacher hunting from the roadway onto his apple orchard.

STABBING

Oct. 26

4:08 p.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Caller is reporting they heard the roommates yelling for two hours. The last thing they heard is “Why would you stab me” and now they see blood from the top of the stairs. Caller thinks they are both still there and says the door is busted open. Victim transported to UH Geauga Hospital by Newbury Rescue Squad. Other person taken into custody and transported to the jail. Report taken.

SUSPICIOUS

Oct. 20

11:11 p.m., Wellesley Lane, Munson. Someone pounded on door, sounded like attempting to break in. Yelled go go go and got back in the car and vehicle left. contact was made. Caller advised he heard three loud bangs on the front door of the home and the suspects ran away after he old them he had a

gun. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a Cadillac SUV. Incident possibly related to ongoing juvenile problems in the area.

Oct. 20

11:15 p.m., Tall Pines Drive, Munson. Someone banged on door, possibly a kid. No description. Neighbors did not have this problem. Ongoing juvenile problem in area. Deputies will be checking area. Homeowner was advised.

Oct. 25

12:36 p.m., Rapids Road and Greystone Drive. At the County Line with a suspicious vehicle. Male was sleeping in his truck because he did not want to go home and watch his 15-month old daughter. Girlfriend’s at home with the child now.

THEFT

Oct. 23

9:28 a.m., Clay Street, Huntsburg. Tools stolen out of a trailer. Trailer was not locked. Think it happened overnight on Saturday night, neighbors heard something and they are missing items too.

Oct. 23

9:40 a.m., Clay Street, Huntsburg. Tool boxes stolen out of a trailer Saturday night, trailer was not locked. Several other things Deputy spoke with caller who advised a saw, toolbox with an assortment of tools were stolen from a work trailer. The items that were stolen were valued at $1,500.

Oct. 23

3:40 p.m., Clay Street, Huntsburg. Male had a generator stolen from him. Stolen from the workshop on Sunday the 22nd of October. Didn’t confirm it was stolen until this evening. No suspects at this time. See report for details.

Oct. 24

4:57 p.m., Creighton Lane, Auburn. Caller’s son’s vehicle was parked overnight and someone stole close to $1,000 out of it. Reported has cash stolen from vehicle.

Oct. 24

5:21 p.m., Taylor May Road, Auburn. Theft occurred last night, they stole a purse and coat from vehicle.

VANDALISM

Oct. 21

9:23 a.m., Indian Hills Drive, Auburn. Complainant wanted to document that her storm drain in her back yard was removed and another drain was put in. Complainant believes the neighbor may have done it. Complainant stated that she last saw her own storm drain two years ago. Complainant was advised to install another outside camera in that area.
