The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 10 to Nov. 16, 2023.
ANIMAL BITE
Nov. 11
2:07 p.m., Bean Road, Munson. Amazon driver bit by two big dogs on leg. Two big mountain dogs ran from the garage. No blood no squad needed per caller. Met with driver regarding a dog bite he sustained while delivering an Amazon package. Information will be forwarded to Geauga County Dog

BURGLARY
Nov. 16
4:35 a.m., Nash Road, Troy. Caller got to his shop to find it broken into, safe was broken into, and all his guns were stolen. Caller says the doors were not locked, but the safe was. Caller says that he did not touch anything.Caller has not checked his tool trailer. Caller will be in the house at the same address. Caller back on the line had to take his horse up the road. On his way he found the guns alongside the road about a quarter mile north of his residence. He will wait there; he hasn’t touched anything.
Nov. 16
7:37 a.m., Mumford Road, Troy. Another call for burglary. Report taken.
8:23 a.m., Mumford Road, Troy. Deputies responded to multiple thefts in the area. Report taken.
CITIZEN DISPUTE
Nov. 16
4:58 p.m., Erwin Drive, Burton. Caller advised he walked outside and his neighbor called him a loser. No weapons, no threats. Male called about being harassed by next door neighbor. Spoke with
complainant, whom was intoxicated and he stated the neighbor called him a loser. Theneighbor
in question was not currently home but a phone number was obtained. Said complainant was advised that this in not a criminal matter.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
Nov. 12
10:31 a.m., Trish Lane, Hambden. About 30 pigs were in the complainant’s yard. Did damage to the yard. Believe they are from the Osso Farm. Citation issued for animal at large.
SUSPICIOUS
Nov. 10
4:40 p.m., Swine Creek Road, Middlefield. Female is reporting there is some there trying to take the car. Caller is stating there is a male that is stating he has paper work to take your
car. Caller states the car is a silver Kia Sportage. Dispatch could hear subject fire a rifle towards the tow driver. Caller is reporting her son fired a round to scare the guy. Caller’s daughter and 2 year old are also in the residence. Caller is reporting the tow truck driver escalated with her. Caller was suspicious that she had to go the car to see the paperwork. Caller states the son was doing it to protect his mother because they thought the driver was trying to get her in the truck.Caller is advised her husband was aware that they were coming to get the car but was concerned it was a fraudulent way. Caller is advising the gun is away. Walking out with hands up. Repossession company at the residence for a vehicle. Man exited residence and stood on the front porch with a loaded rifle and fired a round off in the air in attempt to scare the repossession company away. Arrested without issue.
Nov. 10
6:57 p.m., Tavern and Gingerich Road, Burton. Caller is reporting there is a car following him. Caller is in a White Hyundai Elantra. Caller is reporting he did pass this van and give him the finger. Caller is advising the van has followed him since 76 and 44. Caller is advising he is armed. Caller is now by Giant Eagle. Caller is by Dairy Queen. Caller is at the light by Aldi. Caller is advising the van is still behind him. Caller is by Lake Avenue. Caller is by Frost and van is still behind him. Caller is at 608 and 87. Caller has made contact with officer. Met with deputy due to being followed. As caller pulled into the parking lot, the white (HVAC company) van did not pull in and continued on. Stated he passed him and flipped him off earlier because he was going 65 mph in a 70 mph zone. Stated he just wanted the van to stop following him so he could go home. Advice given.
Nov. 11
11:02 p.m., W. High Street, Frost Bar, Middlefield. Fight, ganging on ong guy, six versus one. Second caller says culprits are headed towards a Mr. Limo bus. Nature change from Assault to Suspicious.
Nov. 12
8:43 p.m., Main Market Road, Troy. Caller advised their neighbor at Rapids Road is smoking marijuana possibly outside and the smell is going into the caller’s house. Caller advised no windows are open and no A/C unit. Spoke with female complainant. She was advised that the odor was from a skunk, not from marijuana.s
Nov. 15
Caller is reporting he found a Glock handgun off the side of the roadway whole
he was mowing his grass. Caller is reporting it was loaded and he now has it in his garage. Firearm was collected and will be entered into evidence. Serial number was ran and nothing came back on file.
THEFT
Nov. 10
10:14 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Hambden Country Inn, Hambden. Female customer stole the bartender’s purse and ran off without paying her tab. They do have cameras facing the parking lot, he will be looking at them now. Female entered the Hambone then departed without paying her tab and stole a
juvenile’s bag containing her Air Pods, car keys, debit card, $8 cash, phone charger and chapstick. Female departed in an older model Jeep Cherokee. Investigation pending.
TRAFFIC HAZARD
No. 10
3:04 a.m., Madison Road, Middlefield. About 10 cows in the roadway on Route 528 just south of Route 87. Caller stated its a big cow. Cow was put back in the pin and the home owner was notified about it getting loose and put back.
