Gloria Ann Stauffer Shiffler
Gloria Ann Stauffer Shiffler, born May 23, 1928, in Brookville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Dec. 6, 2023, in Chardon.
Gloria was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, K. William Shiffler; and her siblings, Evalou Middaugh, Melvin Stauffer and William Stauffer.
She was a loving and devoted mother to her five children, Susan (Tom) Enlow, of Wayzata, Minn., Judd (Pip) Shiffler, of Fairport Harbor, Sally (John) Hughes, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, John (Karen) Shiffler, of Chardon Township, and Sharon (Scott) Cormiea, of Chardon Township.
She also is survived by 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Gloria enjoyed golf, Florida winters and watching sports on TV, but mostly, spending time with her family and friends.
She graduated from Otterbein University in 1950 with a degree in elementary education.
Gloria taught at Mayfield Schools for several years before starting her family. Later, she finished her teaching career at Chardon High School.
She was a regular member of the Chardon United Methodist Church.
Services will be held at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St, Chardon, on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Otterbein University for the K. William and Gloria Shiffler ’50 Endowed Award, 1 South Grove St., Westerville, OH 43081.
