Nov. 24 to Nov. 30, 2023

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 24 to Nov. 30, 2023.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Nov. 24

8:59 p.m., Clark Road, Chardon. Dog stuck in the duct work. Caller is a HVAC tech and went out there to do work. Male that resides there is a supposed to be dog trainer. Male became upset with caller and made him leave. Caller is now concerned animals are being abused. Dog appeared to be scared and stuck in the corner. Male did not want to pay the money to get the dog out. He told caller he was going to leave the dog in there. It is right above the furnace. They are unable to run the furnace and have no heat. Contact was made with homeowner who denied there was a puppy in the vent and did not need assistance. Was however upset with service provided and has called a complaint with the company. Alleged that the worker called him and his wife a liar and a motherf*cker.

Nov. 27

6:31 p.m., Ravenna Road, Chardon. One rooster is on the caller’s porch. Black and red in color. Caller believes it may belong across the street. Contact was made with caller who had a black and red rooster on her porch. Contact was made with neighbor who advised they do have chickens but no roosters. Caller advised she can take care of the rooster for a few days until rescue village takes the rooster.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

Nov. 24

Big blue Suburban with big metal bumper two long antennass, 50ish white male short hair. Came out of his vehicle when he got out with a baseball bat. He is not on scene when he left he hit the caller’ss door of his vehicle. Male left east on Nauvoo about five minutes. Road rage incident between two drivers. Vehicles parked door to door to each other in the Navoo family market parking lot. Complainant opened his door to confront the other driver. Other driver then drove off, causing both vehicles doors to strike each other. Unknown who other drive is. Advice given.

SUSPICIOUS

Nov. 27

10:57 a.m., Valley Road, Auburn. Caller believes someone is checking mailboxes. Caller has repeatedly noticed his mailbox being opened. about 6 in a row north and south. Nothing was stolen out of caller’s mailbox but felt it was suspicious. Several mailboxes on Valley Road where opened sometime Saturday night during the overnight hours. Complainant was not missing any mail. Extra patrol requested in the area.

Nov. 29

3:35 p.m., Tavern Road, Parkman. Cars drive have been coming around the school everyday during dismissal and will drive back and forth multiple times. Today the kids were afraid to leave the building. Caller would like to make a report and then have the school watched. Reported over the last several weeks there have been vehicles driving slowly and stopping in front of their school at departure time. Stated today a dusty blue Ford. Stated when he walked outside the vehicle sped off east. Extra patrol during recess hours, noon to 12:30.

Nov. 29

4:35 p.m., Butternut Road, Burton. At about 3:30 p.m. a black male in a black Durango was going up and down the neighbor’s driveway. Caller feel the male was watching her and her children. Caller has pictures as well. I talked with the neighbor whose driveway the suspicious vehicle was seen at and

she stated that she not get any packages that would have been delivered. She also stated that nothing was out of order. I check the yard for foot tracks and saw nothing odd. The vehicle was a black Dodge Durango with Michigan plates. Nothing further at this time.

THEFT

Nov. 28

12:36 p.m., Kimmeridge Trail, Newbury. Complainant reported that a package that was delivered by Amazon on Nov. 22 was missing from his residence. Complainant needed a report for Amazon to re-send the items. Complainant checked with neighbors and no one saw what happened to the package. Complainant received photo confirmation that the package had been delivered. A photo was attached to this report. The items in the package were a $35 Stanley cup, a $59 baby doll, a two-pack of T-shirts for $19, and a pair of crocs for $45. The items totaled about $180 after tax. Complainant provided with a case number to give to Amazon.

Nov. 30

4:45 p.m., Center Street, Get Go, Chardon. Three people are in the store; they have stole items yesterday. They haven’t taken anything today as of yet. White males, teenagers. Two with red shirts, one with black shirt. They usually walk to Everybody’s Gym.
