Janet S. Stephens
Janet S. Stephens, 77, of Auburn Township, passed away peacefully at home Jan. 26, 2024.
Janet was born to the late Dr. Edward W. and Mary E. (nee Kingman) Sanders on Aug. 19, 1946, in Bellevue, Ohio. She graduated from Bellevue High School and went to cosmetology school.
Janet married her husband, Dennis Stephens, in 1970. She was a teacher’s aide and also worked as a clerk in sales at a clothing store.
She loved doing different arts and crafts, and she was an animal lover. She sang in the choir at St. Helen’s, went to all her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, and loved to travel internationally.
Janet will be greatly missed by her husband, Dennis; children, Matthew (Veronica Johnson) Stephens and Jennifer (Paul) Chase; grandchildren, Stephen Chase and Shannon Chase; and sister, Phyllis (Jim) Walters.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Chuck, Joe, Gordon and Edward.
Calling hours were at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield, on Jan. 31, 2024.
Memorial Mass was held Feb. 1, 2024, at St. Lucy’s Catholic Church, 16280 E High St., Middlefield, with Father Bearer officiating.
