Timothy K. Freeman
Timothy K. Freeman, age 87, beloved husband for 66 years of Bettye (nee Flickinger); loving father of Kevin (Mary), Kip (Chris), Kileen (Blake) Sturgis and Korey (Lisa Dunn); devoted grandfather of Brandon (Lauren), Blake (Lindsey), Brittany (Greg) Sustar, Bryson (Victoria), Brett (Cyerra), Bailey (Joey) Gragg, Christopher (Kate) Parente, Rachael, Mitchell, Rory, Brody and the late Blaire; great-grandfather of Quinn, Kinsley, Hudson, Mercedes, Madison, Morgan, Brayden, Braxton, Luca and Madeleine; cherished son of the late Gordon and Lucy (nee Shaw); dearest brother of the late Patricia (Walter) Gregg and Kathleen (Robert) Brown; and brother-in-law of Ronald Byler.
Timothy was born Dec. 20, 1936, and was a lifelong resident of Burton. He graduated from Burton High School in 1954 and enjoyed getting together for class reunions.
Tim proudly owned and operated Russell Sohio Service Station for nearly 40 years.
He was forever active and involved, whether he was golfing, woodworking, mowing everyone’s lawn, meeting with the members of Burton Jaycee or participating in The Great Geauga County Fair. He was an award winner for his home-grown vegetables and flowers, and maple syrup, which he made with his friends at Mini Maple Farms.
Tim was an avid golfer and president of the Beer Golf League, which consisted of his treasured golf friends.
Above all, Tim loved time spent with his family. Over the years, he and Bettye enjoyed line dancing and traveling to various places.
No matter the setting, he was the life of the party and able to talk to anyone with his easy-going personality.
On Jan. 3, 2024, Tim passed away with family by his side. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Family received friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Tim at The DeJohn Funeral Home & Celebrations Center of Chesterland, 12811 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township, on Jan. 10 and 11, 2024.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Jan, 11, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial followed at Welton Cemetery.
