Armed Forces/First Responders Career Fair
Chardon High School hosted its first Armed Forces / First Responders Career Fair on Dec. 6.
The event provided a platform for representatives from military branches as well local first responders to highlight the diverse and rewarding career paths available within their respective fields.
Participants attending the event included the United States Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, the National Guard, the Chardon Fire Department, the Chardon Police Department, the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Border Patrol, as well as Auburn Career Center.
Organizations attending the event engaged with CHS students in grades 8-12, who eagerly explored a wide array of career opportunities showcased at the fair.
Drop Everything and Read Day
Seventh-grade students at Chardon Middle School recently participated in Drop Everything and Read day in their English language arts class.
Students made themselves comfortable, covering up with blankets and wearing comfortable pajamas, and spent the lesson reading from their independent novels.
