Stella Cecilia Rogal
Stella Cecilia Rogal, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025, at Hillcrest Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 10, 1942, in Twin Rocks, Pa., to Anna (nee Swalligan) and Thomas Columbus.
Stella was the valedictorian of the 1961 class of Twin Rocks High School.
On Aug. 12, 1967, she married her lifetime love and companion, William Edward Rogal.
A resident of Chester Township for over 50 years, Stella dedicated her life to her loved ones and, as a devout Catholic, to God.
She was an amazing seamstress, sewing everything from clothes to Halloween costumes, a passionate baker, baking dozens of Holiday cookies each Christmas, and an avid gardener. She also loved to shop and find deals, play the slots on day trips with Bill to the casinos, and play bingo at local churches.
When her children were grown, Stella worked for Key Bank, greeting her customers with a warm smile. She was also a longtime member of St. Anselm Catholic Church, where she served on Parish Council and as a Parish School of Religion teacher for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Anna; two sisters, Margaret Kachik and Josephine Clark; and her brother Thomas Columbus.
Stella used her wonderful wit and disarming humor to guide her family through the challenges and beauty of life and to create a lasting legacy of strength, faith and love for those who loved and will miss her the most—her husband and best friend of 58 years, Bill; her four children, twins, Joseph (Vanessa) Rogal, Jill (Gregg) Thompson, Daniel (Nicole) Rogal and Natalie (Jason) Haupt; five grandchildren, Leo, Cameron, Angelina, William and Campbell; sister Irene Tatarko; and her brother Joseph (Debbie) Columbus.
Private family services will be held, followed by interment at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
