Bainbridge Township is ready to come alive with music, food and community spirit during its annual Bainbridge ROX festival — formerly known as the Ox Roast — from noon to 10 p.m. Aug. 23.
The festival, hosted by the Bainbridge Civic Club, will take place at Centerville Mills, 8558 Crackel Road, with a scheduled rain date of Aug. 24. It will include a kids zone, Texas Hold Em tournament, beergarden, live music and the community merchant fair featuring local vendors.
“This year’s event features exciting upgrades, including a dedicated stage for musical acts, replacing the smaller deck setup used in past years,” Bainbridge Civic Club President Mark Lindhurst said.
Fat Head’s sponsored beer garden will serve drinks from Fat Heads Brewery, of North Olmstead; 8th Day Brewing, of Auburn Township; Crooked Pecker Brewing Company, of Chagrin Falls; Bummin’ Beaver Brewing, of Auburn Township; and Butcher and the Brewer, of Cleveland.
Food truck options include Coyote Mexican Grill and Cantina, of Chagrin Falls; Fair-Licious, of Aurora, and Basil Wood Fired Pizza, of Auburn Township.
“Adults can enjoy a wide selection of Northeast Ohio craft brews and cocktails in the Fat Heads beer garden, while food lovers will find plenty to sample from local food trucks and the traditional BCC ox roast,” he said.
The bands playing the Jaycee stage include Chagrin River Band from 12-2:30 p.m.; Navingale from 3-6:30 p.m. and Silver Springs: Fleetwood Mac Experience from 7-10 p.m.
“(The) live music will keep the energy high all day long,” Lindhurst said.
The Texas Hold Em tournament starts at 3 p.m. and interested parties can register online at https://thecivicclub.org/poker-registration. The tournament participation fee is $80, which includes a roast ox meal and non-alcoholic drinks. In-person registration will take place from 2-3 p.m. Aug. 23, according to the civic club.
The winner will receive over $5,000 if over 130 people participate in the competition and all proceeds go toward the Bainbridge Civic Club’s scholarships and the Bainbridge Food for Friends food pantry, Lindhurst said.
“The event could not happen without the dedication of the volunteers, families and friends of the Bainbridge Civic Club, who devote countless hours to ensure its success,” he said. “Bainbridge ROX is more than just an event — it’s an opportunity to come together, celebrate local talent and strengthen community spirit.”
