Hare for Russell Trustee
I am proud to support Chris Hare for Russell Township Trustee.
I have known Chris for the past 10 years. During that time, I have found him to be a person who makes decisions based on facts not emotion. He always has been willing to work for other candidates for office who share his conservative values.
Since Chris was appointed to the position of Trustee, he has shown knowledge and expertise in financial matters affecting Russell. He is a good steward of Russell residents tax money.
In his position as Trustee, Chris has sought out department heads to understand their roles and challenges they face. Chris brings young eyes and new ideas to Russell.
I am a resident of South Russell, but what happens in Russell Township affects all Geauga County residents. Chris has roots in our county. He understands the forces that want to change Geauga from rural to urban. For these reasons I ask the residents of Russell to vote for Chris Hare on Nov. 4.

Elect Sharon Madger to Chardon BOE
Residents of Chardon, on Election Day, Nov. 4, take your pen and write in Sharon Madger for Chardon School Board. If you do this, you will be helping to elect and outstanding person to the Chardon Board of Education.
If elected, Sharon pledges to make academics her top priority, provide safe and modern buildings and spend tax dollars wisely.
Sharon raised three sons, two graduated from Chardon. She was impressed with the support she received from the school when her sons had learning difficulties. She would like to see that support continue.
As a board member, she will work to make that happen. I have known Sharon for many years. We have worked together volunteering for Liberty Camp USA and on various women’s committees. Sharon is a tireless worker with innovative ideas. I am proud to endorse her candidacy for member of the Chardon Board of Education.

Vote NO on West Geauga Schools Levy
There was a time when supporting your local schools meant voting for every levy. Back then, you could trust the board to spend your money wisely. That time is over.
Under this board, currently led by Board President Christina Sherwood, who is up for re-election, your money is being wasted, plain and simple. Here are just a few examples:
- Spent $56,000 exploring a new single-campus building, then scrapped the plan after community feedback which was available before the money was spent.
- $40,000 embezzled from the Westwood PTO, highlighting lack of oversight of district-related funds.
- Gave a raise to the superintendent after he resigned.
- Approved a 5-year contract for a new superintendent without a single interview.
- Replaced windows and doors with only one bid, ignoring the basic principle of competitive bidding.
- Ignored their own policy requiring the reprinting the Wolverine Fall Sports Preview, again, after violating the same policy last year.
- Settled a grievance with bus drivers for failing to follow their contract.
- “Hoarded” cash and “hornswaggled” taxpayers, according to the Geauga County Budget Commission.
- Forced surrender of a $2.35M emergency levy due to bloated cash reserves, exposing wasteful budgeting and unnecessary taxation.
- Currently accused of FERPA violations, endangering $2.6 million in federal funding each year.
- Spent $800,000 to demolish the $3M Newbury school facilities, ignoring public input and rejecting free repurposing by Newbury Township.
- Repeatedly approved raises for administration, resulting in a 50% increase in salaries over 10 years, adding over $500,000 annually.
- Willfully neglected current facilities, increasing repair and replacement costs.
- Repeatedly accused of violating state laws, resulting in at least six lawsuits and multiple settlements.
They have already received a windfall from our recent ~30% increase in property values.
This 4.82 mill levy isn’t just unnecessary, it’s dangerous. It replaces two emergency levies, yes, but it is continual, meaning forever. The only way it ends is if the board voluntarily decides to stop taking your money. With this kind of continuously reckless hoarding and spending, don’t count on it.
And here’s the kicker: the Ohio Legislature just eliminated these replacement and emergency levies starting Jan. 1, 2026. In other words, even they think they are a bad idea.
The days of blindly funding every school levy are over. Vote NO. Show the board that fiscal responsibility matters. Show them your money matters. Educate the educators. Tell Christina Sherwood and the rest of the board: enough is enough. It’s time for some Tough Love. Vote NO.
