Ellen Louise Bartholomew

Ellen Louise Bartholomew (nee Holler), 77, of Burton, Ohio, passed away on Nov. 22, 2025, from heart failure.

She was born Sept. 26, 1948, in Bergoo, W. Va., and lived in Burton from the age of 5 on. Her parents were Marzella (nee Bennett) and Edwin Holler.

Louise graduated from Burton High School in 1966 and retired from National City Bank/PNC in Newbury Township, Ohio. She would frequently greet former customers out in the community who remembered her from her days as a bank teller.

Louise loved reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was the family seamstress, constantly repairing jeans or football pants, making Halloween costumes and prom attire, and crafting hand towels for everyone. She could patch up anything but hated zippers!

Louise was also the family cheesecake and peanut butter pie maker. They were always requested to be made by her at family reunions.

Louise loved playing cards with family and her absolute favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz.

Louise is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charlie; and their three children, Chuck Bartholomew (Barb Scott), of Burton, Cindi (Reid) Wellman, of Burton, and Jeff Bartholomew (Natalie Fusci), of Middlefield, Ohio. She is also survived by her sister, Janice (Mike) Dunson, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; brother, Edwin James Holler Jr., of Auburn Township, Ohio; brother and sisters-in-law, Gale and Judy Bartholomew, of Middlefield; Kathy Bartholomew, of Moore, S.C.; Connie Bartholomew, of Burton; bonus grandchildren, Jessika and Shayne Hutchinson and Thomas and Audrey Fusci; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She will especially be missed by her favorite people in the world who called her Munga, her grandsons, Brandon (Courtney) Haycox, of Painesville, Ohio, and Jacob Haycox, of Burton; and her two great-grandchildren, Henry and Haven Haycox, of Painesville.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Burton Congregational Church, 14558 West Park St., Burton, to celebrate Louise’s life. Her brother-in-law, Reverend Mike Dunson, will officiate the service and a private burial will be in Slitor Cemetery in Burton at a later date.

Should you wish to make a contribution in her honor, please consider a donation to the Burton Congregational Church’s Care Team, whose monthly mailings always made her smile and brightened her day.
