Janet Carol Kurapka

Janet grew up in Medina, Ohio, and graduated from Spencer High School. She moved to Cleveland to work in the offices at Lamson and Sessions. She met Bruno, got married in 1959 and moved to Avon to raise a family. Then later moved to Newbury Township, Ohio, where the family had many vegetable gardens and sometimes raised a few ducks, geese and chickens. Janet made many wonderful meals, desserts and birthday cakes for the family.
Janet enjoyed shopping at garage sales, sewing, crocheting, playing women’s volleyball (Newbury Joint Recreation Board) and volunteering at the Sunshine Shop (Geauga County Department of Human Services) in Burton, Ohio. She loved to kid around and truly enjoyed a good sing-along. She was a lifelong Cleveland baseball fan, always ready to cheer on the Indians/Guardians every season.
Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Bruno Kurapka; daughter Patricia (Ray) Laubenthal; brother Richard (Beverly) Hall; and parents, George and Florence (nee Snyder) Hall.
She is survived by her brother Leonard (Mary) Hall; children, Duane (Jeanne) Kurapka, Carol (Roland) Sever and Cathy Kurapka; grandchildren, Ryan Laubenthal, Julia Laubenthal and Steven (Becca) Laubenthal; and great-grandchildren, Rien and Miles.
