Chardon Writers Place Fourth

Chardon Middle School’s Power of the Pen club earned fourth place at the district tournament held at Kenston Middle School.

Power of the Pen is a writing club for students in grades five through eight, with seventh- and eighth-grade students eligible to participate in tournaments.

The following Chardon students qualified for the regional tournament, scheduled for Feb. 28 at Hudson Middle School: Hadley Clark, Nathan Germovsek, Keelie Hagan, Emma Lovick and Megan Majetich.

CHS Presents “Legally Blonde”

Chardon High School presents “Legally Blonde: The Musical” at Park Auditorium, 111 Goodrich Ct., Chardon. Show times are Feb. 26-28 at 7 p.m. and March 1 at 2 p.m.

Follow Elle Woods as she proves that kindness, confidence and a little pink can change the world. The high-energy, feel-good production based on the hit movie is packed with catchy songs, dynamic choreography and an inspiring message.

Students Support Food Pantry

Munson Elementary School students raised over $2,000 last fall to be donated in support of the Geauga County Veteran Food Pantry through the school’s annual Penny Wars event.

The funds were presented during about the pantry’s mission to combat food insecurity among Geauga County veterans and explained how the donation would help support local veterans in need. an assembly on Feb. 5. Volunteer director Lynn Algeri spoke with students The food bank volunteers showed Munson students exactly how their donation would go towards supporting the important cause.
