Ronald R. Peairs

Ronald R. Peairs, age 76, passed away Feb. 4, 2026, at Ohman Family Living at Holly, surrounded by his family.

He was born on Nov. 21, 1949, in Chardon Village, Ohio, to the late Richard and Irene (née Dynowski) Peairs.

A lifelong resident of Geauga County, Ron graduated from Burton High School in 1969. He went on to attend Denver Automotive & Diesel College before being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1971. Following his military service, he continued his education at Universal Technical Institute in Florida.

Ron spent his career working as a truck driver and diesel mechanic, employed by Haueter Excavating, Midwest Land Clearing, Ronyak Paving and later Tri Mor in Twinsburg, Ohio, where he worked until his retirement.

Ron enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and hobbies. He loved attending classic car shows and swap meets, going to the casinos and bingo halls, eating out, working in his garage on his cars and mowing the lawn.

He had a special place in his heart for all his “fur babies” (Siberian huskies and cats). He was also a devoted fan of NASCAR, the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Ron was married to his beloved wife, Marsha (née Svoboda) Peairs, for 49 years. Together they built a life filled with love, family and shared memories.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha Peairs; brother-in-law John Svoboda, of Chardon; brothers, Thomas (Dirk), of Washington, Vt., and Richard, of Troy Township, Ohio; sisters, Linda (Harlie) Ellason, of Chardon, Barbara (Chester) Peairs-Rusinek, of Gainesville, Ga., Kathleen Schwartz, of Montville Township, Ohio, Sandra (Peter) Ogint, of Matthews, N.C., and Bonita (Larry) Bollinger, of Gainesville, Ga.; along with many nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Irene (née Dynowski) Peairs; brothers-in-law Richard Hancock, Leo Caito and Ronald Schwartz; and nephew, Alan Kaser.

Family and friends are invited to visitation Feb. 18, 2026, from 5-8 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 19, 2026, at St. Mary’s Church, 401 North St., Chardon, followed by a procession to Maple Hill Cemetery, 13480 Auburn Road, Munson Township, Ohio.

A Celebration of Life to be held in May of 2026.

The family requests donations be made in Ronald’s memory to the Geauga County Dog Warden, 12513 Merritt Road, Chardon, OH 44024.
