Students Shine at Spelling Bee
Students from Lindsey Elementary and West Geauga Middle School competed in the district spelling bee, showcasing their spelling skills one word at a time. Michael Franceschini earned the championship title and advanced to represent West Geauga Local Schools at the Geauga County Spelling Bee, where he finished second.
Also competing in the district round were Alex Boukis, Anthony Finizia-Boisselle, Ella Branch, Andrew McNamara and Lucas Oklander.
Space Tool Projects
Fifth-grade students at Lindsey Elementary recently showcased their knowledge of space tools at the school’s Space Tool Open House. Each student selected a space tool to research, build and present, demonstrating both creativity and understanding. Guests were impressed by the students’ inventive projects and engaging presentations. The event provided a fun, hands-on way to bring lessons to life while celebrating the students’ dedication, research and hard work.
New Speech and Debate Club
West Geauga High School has recently introduced a new Speech and Debate Club, which is already making a strong impact. Club member Ananya Balasubramanian was named tournament champion, earning her fourth bid and prequalifying for the state tournament.
The accomplishment reflects both Balasubramanian’s dedication and the strong start of the program, which continues to attract student interest and build momentum.
STEM Fair Winners Announced
The West Geauga Kiwanis hosted its annual STEM Fair at West Geauga Middle School, welcoming elementary through high school students to compete in a variety of science, technology, engineering and math challenges. The fair showcased creativity, problem-solving, and innovation across all grade levels.
