Darroll Wade Mabe
Darroll Wade Mabe, age 70, passed away peacefully on Feb. 27, 2026, at Chardon Woods in Munson Township, Ohio.
He was born on May 2, 1955, to Malcolm W. and Dorothy O’Dean (née Coake) Mabe, in Wytheville, Va. In 1968, the family made their home in Thompson Township, Ohio, where four brothers were raised enjoying the simple blessings of country life, wide open spaces and time spent outdoors together.
Darroll attended Ledgemont High School. He worked as a truck driver and spent most of his life as a skilled finish carpenter. His craftsmanship reflected patience, precision and pride in doing things well. Naturally mechanical, he enjoyed working on cars, machines and small projects.
Above all, Darroll truly loved to fish. It was more than a pastime; it was where he felt most at peace. Whether casting a line at sunrise or spending quiet hours by the water, fishing brought him genuine happiness and contentment.
He also loved building model airplanes, a hobby he shared with his father that created lasting memories.
Darroll is survived by his brother, Shyrell Mabe, of Middlefield, Ohio; and his son, Jeremy, who always held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Donnie Ray Mabe and Duane Mabe; and his sister-in-law, Mary Lee Mabe.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Maple Grove Cemetery, 16337 Thompson Road, Thompson.
Arrangements are entrusted to The Original Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.burrservice.com.
