Marcianne E. Kimpton

She was born Feb. 18, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Leo Thomas and Lauretta (nee Smith) Thomas.
Marcianne was a dedicated registered nurse who devoted her life to caring for others. She worked for four years at Robinson Memorial Hospital and later served an additional eight years at Geauga Community Hospital before retiring, staying to home raise her growing family. Her long career reflected her deep compassion and commitment to her community.
She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, flowers and spending time with her family.
Marcianne married Myron Kimpton on Nov. 24, 1962, at St. Mary Church in Chardon, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 2004.
Marcianne was also active in her community and proudly served for 20 years on the Welton Cemetery Board.
She is survived by her children, Alice (John) Wile, Raymond (Emily) Kimpton, Philip (Ana) Kimpton and Arthur (Stacie) Kimpton. She was a grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother to six.
Beside her husband and parents, she was preceded by her grandson Stefan Barstow.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 16150 Center St., Parkman Township, Ohio, with Father Jacob Bearer officiating.
Marcianne will be laid to rest at Overlook Cemetery in Parkman.
