Joanne Farinacci
Joanne Farinacci, age 91, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, in Chardon, Ohio, surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 18, 1934, in Hamden Township, Ohio.
A graduate of Laurel School, Class of 1952, Joanne dedicated her life to her role as a homemaker, though the title she treasured most was Mom. She was the heart of her family, raising five children with unwavering love and support.
Joanne was a devoted mother to Linda Donaldson (Randy), Thomas Velotta (Chris), Timothy Velotta and Dominic Velotta.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael F. Velotta III (Jacqueline); and her former husband, Michael F. Velotta Jr.
The daughter of the late Don and Grace, Joanne was also the sister of the late Richard (Faye), Don “Sonny” (Georgiann) and Joyce (Tony).
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Shannon, Timothy Jr., Katie, Maria, Nicholas, Jennifer, Nicole and Michael IV; and her great-grandchildren, Timothy III, Tyler, Cameron, Alyssa, Luke, Levi, Luke, Giavanna and Ollie.
Joanne was an avid horseback rider in her youth and young adulthood, reflecting her adventurous spirit. She was also known for her cooking, especially her “Sunday Sauce,” a cherished recipe now being passed down through generations.
Joanne was a perfect balance of strength and softness. Though firm in spirit, she was also gracious, caring and generous with those she loved.
She enjoyed reading and had a special appreciation for flowers of all kinds. Above all, Joanne valued time with her family, making new memories and reminiscing about old ones. She had a memory as sharp as a tack and loved looking through old photographs and recalling times gone by.
Joanne was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, including Carolann, Chrissy, Gloria, Terry, Holly, Ricky, Diane, Connie, Don III, Rex, Anne, Nancy, Laurel, Mark and the late Lyn.
Her impact extended well beyond her immediate family, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
