Geauga County Commissioners voted 2-1 April 7 to award approximately $77,000 in opioid settlement grant funding to several local organizations.

Geauga County Commissioners voted 2-1 April 7 to award approximately $77,000 in opioid settlement grant funding to several local organizations. Commissioner Jim Dvorak abstained from the vote, later citing concerns about a lack of movement on one of the grant proposals. Before presenting the proposals, Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services Executive Director Christine Lakomiak emphasized the source of the funding. “This is the state of Ohio opioid settlement,” she said.
