The Burton Village Planning Commission voted April 22 to recommend village council deny a request to rezone 7.5 acres on Rapids Road, putting a proposed 55-duplex development in doubt. Developer Dan Demko was the first to address the commission, urging the four members present to approve the rezoning from R-1 (single-family residential) to R-3 (multi-family residential), saying the project would benefit the village. He plans to build 55 duplex units on land south of Preston’s Kia dealership on Kinsman Road, along with several adjacent parcels totaling about 14 acres. The property is currently zoned for up to 22 single-family homes....
