Everett McMillin
Everett J. McMillin, 89, of Middlefield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center.
Born on July 7, 1936, in Burton, Ohio, Everett was the son of the late James Samuel McMillin and Agnes M. (nee Vickroy) McMillin.
He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and dedicated many years of hard work as a heavy equipment operator before retiring from Lafarge Corporation.
Everett was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mae R. (nee Shelton) McMillin, whom he married and shared many years of life until her passing on July 8, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kelli Lynn Hissa; brothers, John W. McMillin and Ellis McMillin; grandson, Jason; and granddaughter, Ashley.
Everett enjoyed a simple life filled with the things he loved most. He was a former member of the Chardon VFW and enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, Fox News and bull fights in Tijuana.
Everett also liked all things space related and he was always good at fixing things. He also took great joy in helping others, often taxiing Amish families and assisting many friends and neighbors whenever needed.
He leaves behind his loving family, including his children, Chad (Jen) McMillin, Sherri Treeby, Holli Hotchkiss and Ronald “Chip” Yox; sister, Shirley Dowling; grandchildren Aaron (Jacki), C.R. (Laura), Ayme, Jeremy, Alisha (Shawn), Alexandra, Rodney (Leslie) and Nora; numerous great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Family and friends gathered for a time of sharing on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 12 noon, at Sly Family Funeral Home in Middlefield, Ohio.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville, Ohio.

Everett will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, willingness to help others, and the love he shared with his family and community.
