Giggles ‘n Stitches

This spring has brought an exciting new season for Geauga County Giggles ‘n Stitches 4-H Club. As of February, the club has gained several new members and Cloverbuds.

In March, club advisors Julia Wood, Miranda Skitzki and Emily Tessean aided the club in electing officers for the 2026 year. The primary offices of president, vice president, secretary and treasurer are held by Margaret Zallar, Isabelle Violette, Lucy Weaver and Helena Haar, respectively.

Ellie Hrovat, Gabriella Damiani and Rebecca Zallar were elected as the club’s health and safety officers. The selected historians are Kate Moore and Cayleigh Nutter, and Audrey Knaus was elected as hospitality coordinator.  In addition, the elected newspaper reporter is Leah Samsonas.

The most recent endeavors of the club include the Sewing and Quilt Expo that was held on April 23-25 at the John S. Knight Center in Akron. Several members of the club were able to enjoy the designs on display, as well as learn more about sewing and quilting.

The Zallar, Nutter, Hrovat, Skaife and Frisbie families volunteered four hours of their Saturday morning on April 25 to help with the Auburn Roadside Cleanup community service project. The club sincerely appreciates Auburn Township’s support in providing meeting spaces and they enjoy finding ways to give back to Auburn through community service.

Before the members begin working on their projects for the Style Revue in July, they will participate in the friends and family field trip. The members of the club who chose to do a sewing or quilting project will have the opportunity to select materials and patterns at Solon Hobby Lobby and then head to Mitchell’s Ice Cream for a frozen treat afterward.
