Wendy Florence Brooks
Wendy Florence Brooks, age 86, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Wendy was born on Sept. 20, 1939, in Liskeard, United Kingdom, to George and Florence (nee Pearce) Tucker.
Wendy lived a life defined by compassion, hard work, creativity and devotion to her family.
After moving to the United States in 1948, she grew up in Chardon, Ohio, and was homecoming queen at Chardon High School.
She married Reggie in August 1959 and they bought their home in Chester Township, Ohio, where she lived for sixty-seven wonderful years.
Wendy became a valued member of the Geauga County community and helped establish the Lifeline program at Hillcrest Hospital during the 1970s, providing support and peace of mind to countless individuals and families.
Alongside her husband Reggie, she proudly owned and operated Reggie’s Spaghetti House in Aurora, Ohio, where family, friends and customers gathered to enjoy good food and fellowship.
Later in life, Wendy continued her calling to care for others by working as a caregiver, bringing comfort, dignity and kindness to those she served.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of forty-eight years, Reginald “Reggie” Brooks; and her son, Gregory Brooks.
Wendy’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving children, Kathy (Dean) Pahr, Bill (Vivian) Brooks and Jennifer (Jeff) Hankins; sister-in-law, Jean Brooks; and very special friend, Leon Wilson.
She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Joshua, Holden, Alexandra, Colin and Ashley. A cherished great-grandmother of Avery and Nazareth and loving aunt to Cassie.
Her family was truly the center of her world and she delighted in celebrating their accomplishments, sharing stories and creating lasting memories together.
A woman of many talents and interests, Wendy found great joy in gardening, nurturing beauty wherever she went. She also possessed a creative spirit and a love of writing, publishing two books of poetry that reflected her thoughtful nature, faith and appreciation for life’s moments both large and small.
Wendy will be remembered for her gentle heart, resilient spirit, generosity and unwavering love for those around her. She touched many lives through her kindness, service and friendship. Her legacy lives on in the family and friends she adored, the community she served and the countless memories that will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to those who knew and loved her.
The Brooks family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Hospice staff and caregivers who became true angels on earth for Wendy.
Though she will be deeply missed, Wendy’s love, wisdom and strength will remain forever with those who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, Ohio, from 1-3 p.m. and from 5-7 p.m. Private burial will be held in Western Reserve Memorial Garden in Chesterland.
