Carol Lee Grover

Carol met Stephen “Bud” Grover at Jewel’s Dance Hall in Austinburg, Ohio, and they married on Aug. 16, 1958. They had an exemplary 54-year marriage until Bud preceded her in death in 2015.
Carol lived a life of faith in the Lord. She led Bible studies for years and had the most sincere and heartfelt prayers.
She loved all things British, especially the Monarchy, and was a Cleveland Indians fan for years. She loved gardening and reading biographies and history. She was known for her family dinners, ensuring every family birthday and holiday was well celebrated.
Through the years, she baked thousands of loaves of bread, countless dozens of cookies, highly-requested and immensely enjoyed pies and, more, everything made from scratch.
Carol taught second grade at Berkshire Elementary for two years before staying home with her children. She was a wonderful mother to Stephen (Sharon) Grover, Melanie (Chris) Elliott, Leslie Grover and Audre Grover.
At various times through the years, she and Bud also welcomed and cared for many in their home, including Rose Miller, Jennifer, Narrin (Eric, daughters Erica and Eva) Carlberg and Nang.
She was proud of all her grandchildren: Karen (Brandon) Schaedlich, Ashley (Tom) Borck, Nicholas (Mariah) Grover, Stephen (Jenna) Grover, Paul (Abbie) Grover, Phillip (Lauren) Grover and Grace Grover. She adored her 13 great-grandchildren: DJ and Kaylee Realini, Olivya, Conner and Parker Grover, Magdalena Grover, Troy, Leah and Owen Schaedlich, David and Benjamin Borck, and Barrett and Ellie Grover.
Granddaughter Rachael preceded her in death.
Carol is survived by sister in-law Clara (Eddie, deceased) Paryzek; and brother-in-law, Richard (Jo-Ellen, deceased) Locke; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her sisters-in-law Jane (Ed) Crawley and Lillian (Bill) Slusher; and in-laws, Stephen and Grace Grover.
The family is especially grateful to her dedicated and supportive caregivers, Kathy Yoder and Esther Miller, and to the wonderful care provided by the staff of Reserve Care Hospice (formerly Hospice of the Western Reserve) and Mapleview Country Villa of Chardon.
A visitation for friends and family will be held June 11, 2026, from 4-6 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
A private family graveside will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Reserve Care Hospice, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
