BOE Seeking Volunteers
The West Geauga Board of Education is seeking district residents to serve on long range planning committees. The long range planning process will occur during April and May with a fairly significant time commitment during those months.

Artwork Exhibited in Columbus
Congratulations to West Geauga Middle School sixth-graders Lucas Brookes and Jessica Smith for having their artwork exhibited in Columbus at the 2013 Ohio Art Education Association’s Young People’s Art Exhibition.
The Youth Art Month Exhibition comes about through many volunteer hours by art teachers in the state of Ohio. Mrs. Klemm, West Geauga art educator, proudly submitted Lucas and Jessica’s artwork.
A reception and awards ceremony will be held at the State Teacher’s Retirement Systems Building in Columbus on March 16 for the artists, their parents, teachers and guests.
Senior Citizens Recognition
Senior citizens living in the West Geauga community are invited to the annual West Geauga Senior Citizens Recognition Dinner May 8 at 4:30 p.m. in the West Geauga High School cafeteria, 13401 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township. Sponsored by West Geauga Local Schools and the Rotary Club of Chesterland, the evening promises to be fun and entertaining.
Payment of $5 per person will be collected at the door. For reservations, call Sandy at the West Geauga Board of Education Office at 440-729-6803 by May 1.

Westwood Elementary School recognizes its ACE Award winners for the second quarter. Each student was nominated by his or her teacher for demonstrating positive attitude, citizenship and effort in the classroom.
