Breeders and Feeders

The Breeders and Feeders 4-H Club met on Feb. 17 at Munson Township Hall. The individual species meetings were held prior to the regular business meeting.

At the business meeting, many items were discussed. Cody Hamilton gave a report on tractor safety and Katie Daugherty gave a report on feeding animals in the winter months. The window display was discussed for 4-H week. A thank you from Mrs. Soltis for all the baskets for the Austin Hunt fundraiser along with an update on him was given.

Shelby Smith asks rabbit members to bring their rabbits to Burton Healthcare from 10 a.m. to noon before the next meeting on March 24.

Quality assurance will be May 4 from 10 a.m. to noon. Anyone unable to attend must either test out or attend another countys quality assurance.

Camp Whitewood is being held June 16-22. For anyone interested in attending and needing financial aid, there are scholarships available. Applications are available on the Extension website.

The club decided to make a basket for the fundraiser of the Jazz for Opal House fundraiser. Kelli Briggs and Ashley Pitorak will take care of it. The club also was asked to prepare pies and cakes for a bake sale for the Brad Wells fundraiser on April 27.

Enrollment forms are due along with project book fees. The next meeting will be held on March 24 at the Huntsburg Town Hall.

The meeting was adjourned and the club went to Chagrin Roller Rink for skating and fun. (Submitted by Kelli Briggs, news reporter)
